Interessant is ook hoe op May 27, 2007 een nog ongenoemde vriend (Jane Tanner dus ) van de McCanns die "Bundleman" toen beschreef: "She did not realise the significance until Kate McCann went to check on her children, Madeleine and two-year-old twin brother and sister, Sean and Amelie, 30 minutes later and discovered her elder daughter was missing. Madeleine had been wearing pink and white pyjamas with Eeyore on them.

"The man is drawn by the artist with greasy, straggly hair, wearing a purple or maroon top and beige chinos. He is aged about 35 to 40, 5ft 6in (1.7m) tall, and of slim build."
En in de Panorama-docu: "JANE: He was about probably 5'8 tall, he was taller than me but not 6' and so between those two. He was wearing quite a lot of clothes and that's one thing in hindsight again I think was quite odd because tourists when they're abroad, Brits abroad would always have cropped trousers or shorts or something, and he had a sort of a big heavy jacket and trousers on, and hair.. the one thing that I remember a lot is the hair. He did seem to have quite a lot of dark, reasonably-long-to-the-neck hair."
Hoe duidelijker wil men het nog hebben, er wordt naderhand wat bijgesteld, afgezwakt, opgeklopt...kortom, bloody lies. Of ze daadwekelijk aan de snuif waren of nog zijn, ik zou het niet weten, maar ben er wel van overtuigd dat de drank ook hun vriend was, bovendien is het ook nog zo dat in warmere gebieden en de buitenlucht je eerder licht in het hoofd bent, dat ben je al sneller out of touch. Dat verklaard misschien ook dat overmatige gejog in de morgen, de snelste manier om de alcohol uit je lijf te krijgen. En verder zijn ze natuurlijk zo schuldig als de neten, mijn score is naar 125% gestegen en die Tapasvrienden zijn gewoon bang voor hun carrières, vanwege hun gedrag tov hun kids. Mogelijk houden de McCanns een soort van zwaard van Damocles boven hun hoofd, maar volgens mij kan dat toch geen stand houden.

Mr Marco, director-general of the family-run firm, invited ridicule recently by promising the McCanns that he would find missing Madeleine within five months - and bragging on BBC flagship programme Panorama that he was "100 percent sure" she was alive and he was "very, very close" to finding her.
Privately, sources close to the McCanns have described his comments as "over enthusiastic". His claim that Metodo 3 works only for the business sector, made in a Spanish magazine, clashes with others that it is expert in finding missing people.
The agency has claimed a 100 percent success rate in tracking down missing persons and was credited with tracing an infamous spy and arms dealer who had spent seven years on the run from Spanish justice. But its website lists none of its work in finding missing people - just nine areas of expertise including fraud, information protection and patent and trademark falsification. Metodo 3 was set up 21 years ago by Mr Marco's mother Marita.
In an interview published less than four years ago, he claimed: "As we're not specialists in dealing with private individuals, we stayed away from this area." He added: "From the beginning the idea was that Metodo 3 would be a firm that would work for companies." Portuguese detectives, according to leaks in local newspapers, have ridiculed Metodo 3's private investigatorsas irrelevant and have said that they had failed to provide any new evidence in the six-month case.
Metodo 3, thought to have been hired by the McCanns on the recommendation of a British-based risk consultancy, has a six-month contract.
