De kans bestaat dat Urby Emanuelson in de winterstop de stap maakt naar AS Roma. De Italiaanse topclub heeft opnieuw belangstelling getoond voor de verdediger van Ajax.

“Het verbaast me niet dat ze zich weer melden”, vertelt de Oranje-international in De Telegraaf. “Afgelopen zomer meldden ze zich al en zeiden dat ze een eerste bod van acht miljoen euro bij Ajax zouden neerleggen. Dat is mede op verzoek van mijn zaakwaarnemer Brian Berkleef en mij niet gebeurd.”

“Technisch directeur Martin van Geel gaf dat te kennen er na het vertrek van Ryan Babel en Wesley Sneijder niemand meer weg mocht. AS Roma is een mooie club, waar ik zeker voor zou willen spelen. Het is alleen de vraag of ik in de winterstop al naar Italië moet”, aldus Emanuelson.

Emanuelson (21) maakte drie seizoenen geleden zijn debuut in de hoofdmacht van Ajax en heeft inmiddels 67 competitieduels (vier treffers) achter zijn naam staan. De zevenvoudig international maakte vorig jaar augustus tegen Ierland (0-4) zijn debuut in het Nederlands elftal.

Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi has warned Coach Domenico Di Carlo his job is hanging by a thread.

“Today the squad and the Coach failed this test,” he said of the 3-0 defeat at Sampdoria this afternoon.

“We played well for the opening 25 minutes, then conceded a goal and the entire team just disappeared. This is disconcerting.”

The Gialloblu are in the relegation zone with just six points from eight games, including four defeats.

“We can never manage to really evaluate the strength of the squad because they start out well and then collapse at the first sign of difficulty.”

This is Di Carlo’s first ever Serie A campaign and it could be over earlier than anticipated.

Not even his own teammates could bring themselves to stand up for Nelson Dida after his farcical theatrics in Glasgow. The reasons behind his ‘injury’ when tapped on the cheek by a Celtic fan prompted endless jokes ranging from “a panic attack” to “the supporter holding a poisonous snake that bit the goalkeeper on the cheek.” Not since Marco Materazzi’s close encounter with Zinedine Zidane has the media enjoyed such comedy speculation. Dida has tried to put it all behind him with an act of contrition – he walked all around San Siro before the warm-up to Sunday’s 1-0 defeat against Empoli and bowed down to the crowd. Is this and his one-match Euro ban enough? No chance.

The truth is that Dida has been a source of constant embarrassment to Milan since the moment he arrived and the Celtic Park incident really was just the final straw. Going all the way back to his fumble at Leeds United, where he let a harmless last-minute shot squirm through his hands, the goalkeeper has had fans shaking their heads in disbelief. Never any good on crosses, dreadful at taking control from set-pieces and generally prone to at least one howler per month, he is not good enough to play for the champions of Europe. To think the Rossoneri could have signed Gianluigi Buffon in the summer rather than stump up more cash for this Brazilian liability!

It’s a shame his Champions League ban was reduced from two games to just one, as he could have taken the time to learn medieval basket-weaving, knitting or meditation – alone time where one can reflect on mistakes. While he has taken a monastic vow of silence over the whole Celtic affair, Dida will have to speak to the media eventually and the first question will be: “What the hell were you thinking?! Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?” He will have no answer, his silence to this point has already spoken volumes.

What’s worse, Dida has now gone from simply not a terribly good player – resting on the reputation created in 2003 by a penalty shoot-out that had more to do with Juventus bottling it than his shot-stopping capabilities – to being an absolute embarrassment. The fans were already jeering him before Glasgow, they are unlikely to forgive him after making the side into a laughing stock the world over. The only reason the Diavolo have put up with him this long is that Zeljko Kalac is even worse. Marco Amelia is already lined up for January and that will be the end of the Dida Comedy Hour.

The Derby della Capitale is upon us and a must-win game for both sides, as there is more than bragging rights at stake.

Lazio find themselves in the bottom half of the table with just 10 points from nine rounds, while their local rivals dragged themselves back into the title race and second spot with their surprise 1-0 victory away to Milan on Sunday afternoon. That result was achieved despite Daniele De Rossi’s penalty miss and the absence of the talismanic Francesco Totti, so confidence remains high in the Giallorossi camp, although Il Capitano is unlikely to recover from an ankle injury in time for this match. It is heartbreaking for Totti, who more than any other player embodies the Roma identity, but he could possibly make it for a spot on the bench. Rodrigo Taddei, Mauro Esposito, Alberto Aquilani and Marco Andreolli are also expected to miss out.

Mirko Vucinic has been taking advantage of Totti’s injury to make his mark, as a sensational four days for the Montenegrin ended with his first Champions League goal and the winner against Milan. He will again lead the line with support from Amantino Mancini, Max Tonetto and the not 100 per cent fit Simone Perrotta. Christian Panucci should return at right-back after he was benched at San Siro in favour of Cicinho.

If Roma have been riding an injury crisis with relatively few setbacks, the same cannot be said of a decimated Lazio outfit. Playing in the Champions League and Serie A with a limited squad is taking its toll and a tired performance in the 1-0 home defeat to Udinese showed all too clearly how damaging the situation has become. Coach Delio Rossi – himself under pressure and refusing to speak to the media after a new Calciopoli scandal sparked headlines – is forced to reshuffle with Mobido Diakhitè, Cristian Ledesma, Stefano Mauri and Sebastiano Siviglia injured. At least Luciano Zauri and Fabio Firmani return from their bans and Valon Behrami should recover from a bout of flu in time for this clash.

Young goalkeeper Nestor Muslera seems to be relegated to second choice after his disastrous performance in the 5-1 loss to Milan, so 43-year-old Marco Ballotta is given the gloves for the biggest game of the season. The Biancocelesti will be hoping the ‘away’ rule counts in this tie, as they have lost two consecutive games at the Olimpico and have not won in front of the home fans since the 3-1 over Cagliari on September 26. Having said that, Lazio’s last victory as the away side in a derby was November 1, 1997.

Keep an eye on: Mirko Vucinic (Roma) – His first year at the club was dominated by injuries and poor finishing, but with two crucial goals in as many games over the past week, he is taking full advantage of Totti’s forced absence.

Zalayeta dus 2 wedstrijden geschorst met als argumentatie erbij dat hij niet tegen de arbiter aangaf dat hij fout zat. Lekker precedent scheppen, zoiets.
Aan de andere kant werd er ook niks gezegd over het overduidelijke vasthouden van Zalayeta door Legrottaglie. Dus is de straf ook zeker net zo dubieus als de strafschop zelf. Daar hoor je Juve overigens absoluut niet over, terwijl ze voor de rest harder janken dna alle andere clubs bij mekaar door de afgelopen Calciopoli jaren heen.

Livorno have rescinded ex-Milan midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo’s contract by mutual consent after his recent spat with the club.

The 34-year-old arrived from PSG this summer, but there were immediate concerns that he lacked the level of fitness required.

Unimpressed by Dhorasoo’s attitude, new boss Giancarlo Camolese ordered him to play for the youth side last weekend, but he refused and went AWOL.

“He asked him to play for the youth team as that would have been a good indicator, but the player refused to accept that decision.

Massimo Paci, lei è un ex calciatore della Juventus…

“E’ stata una bella esperienza, che mi rimarrà sempre nella mente, anche se in quell’anno mi capitarono due infortuni, uno ad inizio preparazione, ed uno alla fine, che mi rovinarono un po’ tutta l’annata. Un’esperienza alla Juve non si dimentica mai...”



E dopo?

“Dopo quegli infortuni alla Juve sono rimasto parecchi mesi fermo: avevo avuto un’infezione. Per i primi tre anni ho sofferto molto: quell’infezione mi aveva lasciato tanti malanni, anche a livello fisico. E’ stata dura riprendere. Dal terzo anno ho ricominciato la salita: ho fatto un bell’anno in serie C, poi abbiamo fatto la serie B e poi sono ritornato in serie A. E’ stata una bella soddisfazione, perché ripartire dal niente e riconquistarsi tutto, quando poi ci arrivi, ti dà ancora più soddisfazione…”



Chi l’aveva portata alla Juve?

“Moggi. Era venuto lui in persona a vedermi: io giocavo in serie B ad Ancona. Il direttore allora mi disse che la Juve punta sempre sui giovani, e che avevano scelto proprio me. Poi è andata come è andata…”



Dopo Calciopoli la Juventus è cambiata…

“Sì, ora la situazione è completamente diversa: all’epoca c’era molta più qualità rispetto ad ora; adesso, oltre la qualità, ha altre caratteristiche: è una squadra che non molla mai; arrivano dalla serie B, per cui ogni domenica, anche se loro sono più forti, vogliono dimostrare sul campo di esserlo. Oltre le qualità tecnico-tattiche l’arma in più della Juve è il fatto che non voglia mollare mai. Caratterialmente ha qualcosa in più rispetto alle altre squadri di serie A.”



In questa stagione lei ha avuto modo di giocare contro i bianconeri già in Coppa Italia…

“Stavolta sarà più importante di quella volta in Coppa Italia, anche se sarà una gara come tutte le altre. Non esistono sfide più o meno importanti: è una questione di mentalità, se noi riusciamo ad avere la stessa mentalità con tutte le squadre, sia che vinciamo, sia che perdiamo, possiamo fare un campionato tranquillo, mettendo in mostra le nostre potenzialità. Se invece vinciamo una partita e ci montiamo la testa va a finire che facciamo un campionato come l’anno scorso. Dobbiamo avere la mentalità che tutte le partite sono uguali: Juve, Livorno, Siena e Milan…”



Quanto è pericoloso affrontare una Juve più operaia e provinciale di prima?

“Prima che scendesse in serie B io avevo affrontato la Juve quando ero ad Ascoli ed era fortissima: era difficile allora e sarà difficile adesso, non credo ci siano grandi differenze. E’ una partita dal fascino particolare: per riuscire a far bene dobbiamo fare la partita della vita, sbagliando veramente poco.”



Quindi per lei non sarà una partita particolare…

“Per nulla, anzi, dopo quello che è successo con la Juve non è che mi sia particolarmente simpatica. Per me è una partita assolutamente normale, anche se dovremo metterci qualcosa in più di una partita normale: dovremo stare attenti a non commettere errori, perché non perdonano. Spero che non vada a finire come con la Roma, quando ci eravamo trovati subito sotto: sarebbe bello potersela giocare fino in fondo. Però deve essere una partita normale, come tutte le domeniche: non era meno importante quella di domenica scorsa col Siena.”



Per i tifosi è quasi come un derby…

“E’ vero, l’anno scorso non lo avevamo giocato, e non respiravamo nell’aria questo profumo. Questa settimana, in giro per la città, si avverte questo sapore particolare. Speriamo di non deludere i nostri tifosi: noi ce la metteremo tutta.”



La sindrome del gol alla fine: è casuale o patologica?

“Secondo me non è casualità: l’episodio dell’autogol di domenica scorsa è sicuramente sfortuna, ma il fatto che abbiamo subito gol negli ultimi minuti non è assolutamente sfortuna. Anzi, se ci attacchiamo a questo alibi vuol dire che siamo deboli: se capita una volta può essere sfortuna, ma alla terza volta che capita no. Dobbiamo guardarci negli occhi noi giocatori e capire: in quei momenti bisogna saper gestire meglio la partita, ed avere un po’ più di personalità, sia nel giocare la palla che nell’alzare il baricentro dieci metri più avanti, perché poi se ti trovi a subire 4-5 tiri da fuori area l’episodio sfortunato può capitare, ma in generale non è sfortuna: dobbiamo migliorare noi, in quei minuti lì. Sappiamo di avere carenza, nei minuti finali, quindi dobbiamo lavorare soprattutto mentalmente per riuscire a venirne fuori indenni.”

Infine la risalita: dalla serie C fino al massimo campionato nazionale. Ora sono contento di potere affrontare la Juventus da avversario.. I ragazzi di Ranieri sono reduci da una prestazione gagliarda contro i campioni d’Italia: “Rispetto alla squadra in cui giocavo io, c’è meno qualità. Ora con caparbietà dimostrano tutte le settimane di essere una compagine che non molla mai fino all’ultimo minuto”. Attimi che per il Parma sono stati decisivi più di una volta in questo inizio di campionato: “E’ la terza volta che prendiamo gol quando sta per terminare la gara. Non si tratta di sfortuna. Serve maggior personalità e una migliore capacità di gestire certi momenti della partita. Dovremo giocare il match dell’anno: si sbaglieremo qualcosa, i nostri avversari non esiteranno a punirci”.
