Ik zit op het moment op 220 van de 250. Zal de komende tijd de 2007 films bijkomen als Grindhouse en Zodiac. Maar persoonlijk beschouw ik de TheyShootPictures lijst toch al De lijst. Ondanks de afwezigheid van enkele moderne klassiekers, beschouw ik die lijst toch als completer.

TSPDT heeft als nadeel dat films uit de jaren '90 en '00 enorm ondervertegenwoordigd zijn. Dat ligt natuurlijk ook aan het systeem dat ze hanteren voor die lijst, maar alsnog zou er wel her en der wat gecorrigeerd worden dat ook de goede films uit die decennia hoger staan of in die lijst terecht komen.
Ook vind ik de top20 van die lijst slechte of overgewaardeerde titels hebben zoals Vertigo, Rashomon, Raging Bull, LoA (:@) en Singin' in the Rain (:r), maar dat probleem heb je uiteraard ook bij de Imdb top 250 met The Shawshank Redemption. De perfecte ultieme filmlijst bestaat niet en gelukkig maar .

Volgens mij vindt iedereen die twee films stiekem toch erg goed. Neem daarbij dat het hoge compassiegehalte met de gevangene een grote rol speelt, en ik zelf waardeer beide films dan ook zonder problemen met een 9. Tsja, als iedereen dat nou doet, dan is het niet zo gek dat deze twee films zo hoog gewaardeerd worden, terwijl ze stiekem wel een beetje oversentimenteel zijn.
