Of een cursus PI's lezen . Het klopt wel dat comedy vaak een ondergeschoven genre is. Mag soms best wel wat meer waardering krijgen. Niet die ranzigheid zoals Date Movie, maar de meer sophisticated comedy's in het straatje Lost in Translation en Good Bye Lenin!. Oke, die twee films worden al best goed gewaardeerd, maar mijn punt is duidelijk.

Op die manier stem je wel weg wat je hebt gezien en krijg je een finale vol Rififi's en Best Years of our Lives'en. Goed punt. Daarom overweeg ik zo nu en dan tegen het einde van een ronde om niet te stemmen. Dat heb ik dan ook al eens gedaan. Dat is het enige echte nadeel van dit systeem. Zelfs bepaalde IMDb top 250 films zijn niet door voldoende mensen gezien. Daarom zou het ook eens leuks zijn om iets dergelijks te doen met de 1000 films met de meeste votes. Zo'n survivalgame met 1000 films met de meeste votes zou aan de andere kant weer redelijk voorspelbaar worden. Uiteraard vliegen films als Indepedence Day en Armageddon er dan zo uit. Het is inderdaad logisch dat films met veel votes veel te verduren hebben en dat een onbekendere film als Kind Hearts and Coronets er nog lang kan zitten zonder ook maar een plusstem te hebben ontvangen. Gelukkig is deze niet zo heel boeiende film er alsnog uitgevlogen. Ondanks dit nadeel vind ik het gelukkig nog steeds wel een tof concept. Ik zou niet weten hoe de finale anders georganiseerd kan worden, zodat bijvoorbeeld Pulp Fiction niet meteen weggestemd wordt. Je zou het een handicap kunnen geven (startwaarde 10 punten ipv 7), maar dat is suffig en maakt het allemaal maar ingewikkeld. Ik zou ook niet weten op basis van welke criteria je zo'n handicap moet toekennen.

Of je zou bijvoorbeeld de 150 of 200 films met de meeste votes uit de imdb top 250 moeten nemen.
Of andersom, de 250 hoogstgewaardeerde films van de films die in de top 1000 staan op basis van votes. Maar dat wordt denk ik wat omslachtig en ook dan zullen nadelen naar boven komen borrelen in de praktijk.
