Ik heb echt honderden blackmetal albums gehad en Graveland's Thousand Swords is toch echt wel het slechtste wat ik ooit heb gehoord. Destijds waren al mijn blackmetal kameraden het trouwens roerend met me eens. We hebben ons echt een kriek gelachen om dat album.

Als je je teksten gaat vullen met verhalen over hoe je Moslims wilt afslachten, dan maak je je ook niet echt populair mee bij mij. Sowieso was Graveland toen nogal populair in neo-nazi hoeken.

metal/hardrock toch? als het alleen metal mag zijn zouden ook ac/dc en girlschool afvallen bijvoorbeeld... en als qotsa niet mag dan sabbath ook niet zeker?

Sabbath is de oermetalband.

Wat betreft 'hardrock' heb je wel gelijk. Ik heb het zelf dit jaar uitsluitend op metal gehouden en zou liever een iets striktere interpretatie willen zien van metal en hardrock, maar goed dan zou er ook minder animo voor zijn.

Nu nog maar dat boeit me niet. De muziek vind ik te goed om links te laten liggen vanwege zijn denkbeelden. Als die communist was geweest had ik het ook geluisterd.

edit --> Niet dat het veel uitmaakt maar hij is vooral anti-christelijk... anti-moslim is hij omgetwijfeld ook maar uit album- en songtitels blijkt vooral zijn haat tegen het christendom.

Toch is het gemiddelde Qotsa nummer harder dan een gemiddeld Sabbath nummer.

QOTSA ademt rock en Sabbath ademt metal. Het heeft alles met sfeer te maken. Met nummers als "Black Sabbath" en "Eletric Funeral" legde Black Sabbath de grondvesten voor de doom metal en uiteindelijk ook de stoner rock, maar qua sfeer en thematiek is Sabbath altijd meer een doomband geweest.

Mjah, ok... toch vin dik er niet dat er discussie zou moeten zijn over de bands die Seborik net noemt (Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Masters of Reality en dus ook Qotsa), valt voor mij onder de categorie hardrock in een 90's stijl.... en blijkbaar klinkt dat wat meer alto maar het blijft hardrock.

Ik vind van de 3 bands ook eigenlijk alleen Black Sabbath echt metal.
