Maira Oliveira - All Headline News Reporter
London, England (BANG) - Sir Paul McCartney is allegedly going back on tour to get over his bitter split from Heather Mills.
The Beatles legend is desperate to put his divorce battle behind him and has decided to hit the road again.
A source told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "Paul is itching to get back and play live. He never even got to perform in the U.K. or Europe so he's eager to rectify that. He has always loved touring and sees it as the perfect way to putting his problems behind him."
Sir Paul, 64, was forced to abandon the European leg of his world tour last year because of his marital problems. The couple - who have a three-year-old daughter Beatrice together - split last May after four years of marriage.
According to friends, Sir Paul will use his new stadium tour to promote his forthcoming album, which is to be released this summer on the new Starbucks record label, Hear Music.
Sir Paul - who was the first artist to sign to the label - is leaving Capitol Records who he has worked with on and off for 43 years, to join the new Los Angeles-based music venture.

iTunes

By Aisha Phoenix
April 12 (Bloomberg) -- EMI Group Plc, the world's third- largest music label, settled a royalties dispute with the Beatles' Apple Corps Ltd., in an agreement analysts said may lead to the band's catalogue becoming available online.
``We settled last month on mutually acceptable terms,'' Amanda Conroy, a spokeswoman for London-based EMI, said today in an interview. A spokeswoman for Apple Corps also said a settlement had been reached. Apple is owned by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono and the estate of George Harrison.
In August, New York State Supreme Court Justice Karla Moskowitz denied EMI's request to dismiss a breach-of-contract suit that sought at least $25 million in royalties. The 2005 complaint also sought to reclaim rights to all the master recordings by the defunct British rock band, Paul LiCalsi, the lawyer representing the Beatles, said in an interview in August.
EMI has the rights to distribute the Beatles' recordings on CDs and other physical formats. Apple hasn't yet granted digital rights to their songs. Speculation about the music being made available in digital form has risen since Apple ended decades of litigation with Apple Inc., maker of the iPod music and video player, over use of the Apple name.
``It's a pretty significant deal,'' said Patrick Yau, an analyst at Bridgewell Securities. ``An online agreement should follow fairly quickly. It's something the market has expected for a while -- ever since the Beatles and Apple Inc. got past their trademark issues. It will be a positive boost for EMI.''
`Apple' Dispute
Apple Inc. ended a legal dispute with the Beatles over rights to use the Apple name and logos in February, potentially clearing the way for the company to distribute the group's music through its iTunes online store.
Under a new agreement, Apple Inc. owns all trademarks related to ``Apple'' and will license some rights back to the Beatles' Apple Corps for its continued use, the companies said on Feb. 5. Terms weren't disclosed.
The settlement ends decades of litigation and may help Apple Inc. Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs realize his goal of distributing the Beatles catalog, including hits such as ``Let It Be'' and ``Yesterday.'' ITunes is the most popular site for legal digital downloads and the addition of songs by the Beatles may help draw even more music fans to the site.
The Beatles led the ``British invasion'' of U.S. music charts in the 1960s.
The settlement was reported earlier today by the London- based Daily Telegraph.

(Zie post MrBadGuy)quote:To read some of the comments posted on the Internet, you would think that Mr. Aspinall has single-handedly delayed everything from upgrades of the standard Beatles catalog to the release of video projects like the restored and expanded versions of “Let It Be” and the 1965 Shea Stadium concert, which have languished on Apple Corps shelves since the 1990s.
But that’s not how it is. Mr. Aspinall is answerable to Apple’s board, which is to say the Beatles or their representatives (who in turn are answerable to the Beatles who appointed them), and he could not move forward on any of these projects without their approval.
(...)
But the Beatles have the last word on what will be released, and when and whether to pursue bootleggers or even authors who write about bootlegs. Mr. Aspinall and Apple’s lawyers simply do their bidding.

Bron: ContactMusic.comquote:LENNON FEUD INSPIRES MCCARTNEY'S NEW SONG
SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY's new song PIZZA AND FAIRYTALES is inspired by a bitter row with JOHN LENNON, who told his former bandmate that his music lacked depth. The feuding Beatles had a nasty argument in the mid seventies, when Lennon said MCCartney's music was all 'pizza and fairytales'. But the Hey Jude hitmaker has put the insult to good use, and will use it on new album Memory Almost Full, which comes out in June (07). An insider tells British newspaper Daily Express, "Paul has spoken about John having a real go at him over the telephone, telling him his music lacked depth and meaning. "John famously told Paul his music was all 'pizza and fairytales', and the insult stuck. "He has always joked it could make a good song or album title and now he has finally put it to use."
