David Gest begged by Michael Jackson

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Michael Jackson reportedly begged David Gest not to go on 'I'm A Celebrity- Get Me Out Of Here!'

The singer thought TV bosses would try to make a fool out of Gest and allegedly told him he was crazy to consider going on the show.

Jackson, 48, reminded Gest of the humiliation he suffered after allowing TV journalist Martin Bashir to film a documentary about him and pleaded with Gest not to suffer the same fate, claims Gest's bodyguard.

Imad Handi says many of the concert promoter's friends thought it was a bad idea to go on the show, but he encouraged him to sign up.

Handi said: "I think being in the jungle will be good for him.

"But not everyone was so sure. The whole Jackson clan was saying to him: 'Don't do it, you are mad to agree to go on this show.' "

JACKSON AND BLAINE PLAN PERFORMANCE SPECTACULAR

Following our exclusive undercover report with Michael Jackson at the World Music Awards, Pop Revenge can exclusively reveal the King of Pop is now planning an extravagant comeback performance to silence his critics; with his old friend David Blaine.

In the aftermath of the internationally criticised performance, Pop Revenge spoke to one of his confidantes. We have been told he is in the early stages of a sensational response to his critics. She told us "There is nothing more sacred to Michael than his electricity on stage, press reports claimed he will never sing again like he used to, they are in for a shock. The attacks have personally hurt him, he has always prided himself on his abilities as a live performer. His response will be dramatic and the answer is going to be onstage, it is something nobody else could create."

David Blaine is famous for creating 'showpiece events' and creating hype mixing magic and entertainment. Michael intends to recreate the aura that once surrounded him and his performances.

We can reveal that Michael spoke to friend Blaine after the World Music Awards and plans are underway for a unique spectacle. Our source told us "Initially Michael wanted advice for a showpiece, they got around to the idea that it would be interesting to do something together, the idea of a 'magic and music show' was suggested by David. David is in New York preparing for his big stunt next week, as soon as he comes through that are going to start preparations, people will realise that Michael can perform at the highest level, a level only he can attain. People are in for a surprise."

Blaine is currently working on his latest stunt; escaping from a locked spinning gyroscope 50 feet above ground. He hopes to extricate himself by Thanksgiving day. After escaping, he plans to take 100 underprivileged kids shopping at a Target store, which is sponsoring Blaine's 30-day school and hospital tour, where he'll perform and teach magic.

Pop Revenge believes the Blaine and Jackson collaboration will coincide with promotion build up to Michael's new album, currently being recorded in Ireland, in early 2007.

National British newspaper reports had quoted sources as saying "Michael has always been able to count on his musical genius...judging by that performance he can no longer even get through one song...he looks a shadow of his old self and it's hard to see how he can carry on."

Such reports have dismayed Jackson, he insists that his expected 'Thriller' performance at the World Music Awards was only ever a rumour, initially stirred by the media.

ok dan, weer eens wat positief nieuws. Maar toch blijf ik een beetje terughoudend, aangezien dit soort berichten vaak de ronde doen

De man heeft al in geen jaren meer relevante muziek gemaakt...

Wat is dat nou voor onzin?

Nou zo vreemd vind ik de opmerking niet hoor. Jij volgt MJ wat intensiever dan de gemiddelde fokker en als fan kijk je toch anders naar zijn recente werk. Persoonlijk vind ik zijn werk sinds thriller niet echt geweldig.

Mwah, ik snap wel dat het een nickname is, maar komop: "...en hij laat zien waarom hij de King of Pop is"...
Ik hoop het, maar wat mij betreft is het lang geleden toen ik er voor 't laatst een spoortje van heb bemerkt. OK, ik vond Invincible wel een goed album, maar dat de rest van de wereld er nou net zo wild van werd als destijds met bv. Bad? Neu...

Maar als je kijkt naar wat hij heeft betekend in de popmuziek.. dan maakt het voor mij niet veel uit dat hij de laatste tijd niet veel goeds meer uitbrengt. Alleen voor wat hij allemaal heeft gedaan krijgt hij die titel al, imo.

- grote invloed op nieuwe sterren zoals Usher, Chris Brown, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake etc
- videoclips
- danspasjes
- vernieuwing in popmuziek

Misschien is het overdreven, maar zonder MJ zouden Usher, Chris Brown en Justin Timberlake niet veel voorstellen. Ze kopieëren hem allemaal, en voor alle drie is MJ hun grootste invloed

Dangerous ben ik al niet zo'n fan van eerlijk gezegd...HIStory disc 2 kan ik me zeker in vinden, Blood ook wel een paar tracks...maar Invincible...nou...

Why You Wanna Trip on Me is zeker wel een lekker nummer. Zelfde geldt voor Heal The World, op sommige momenten dan..
