quote:First of all, we plan to allow most of the Shaman and Paladin buff effects to stack, with a few exceptions of course. This means that both will be extremely useful in regards to improving the potential power level of those around them. Beyond this, you're only thinking in current "WoW" terms and seem to only be digesting current end-game. When the Burning Crusade releases all classes will have access to new spells, talents and abilities, which will be taken advantage of (and play a large part in) grouping/raiding in the expansion's end-game.
It's also important to note that moving forward, we'll be able to design our raid and dungeon encounters to specifically draw out the strengths of each of these classes, whereas now we actually take measures to prevent an encounter from being too beneficial to only one of the classes.
I'd also like to mention that beyond raiding, we think it will be exciting for players that feel strong allegiance to one specific faction to have access to a class that has seemed unavailable to them.
We do plan to stick with our current design model for both the Shaman and Paladin in terms of what they bring to the table, only now we will really be able to flesh out and make their differences truly special. The reaction to the Shaman review had nothing to do with this change, other than we made decisions for the review based upon the fact that we were moving forward with this change.
I can't emphasize a few key points enough. Lets not apply this change to current World of Warcraft. The day Horde has access to the Paladin and the Alliance has access to the Shaman, ten new levels of spells, abilities and talents will be available for all classes. The Shaman will have extremely unique and special abilities that they will bring to an encounter, as will the Paladin. You will want both classes present in both group PvE and group PvP. Players that are fearful that Shaman won't be needed simply aren't seeing the larger picture.
In addition to this, we've been designing the future content of the game to support this change, which means we can create specific encounters where one class really excels and in certain cases, is pretty much required.
We don't have any plans to increase the raid size for expansion. If anything we're focused on creating smaller player capped raid dungeons for the Burning Crusade as we've stated as early as when we hosted the BlizzCon event.
You know, many things wouldn't exist if we didn't change our mind concerning the direction and evolution of our design in specific areas. To name a couple -- Trolls and Gnomes. Originally we wanted to ship the game with six races. We simply cannot continue to create content for this game without a passionate desire to improve upon certain elements of game play. Decisions where we feel the need to drastically change an element of the game because we feel strongly that it's beneficial to everyone as a whole are tough to make because human beings are resistant to change. However, we can't let the fear and speculation of our player base deter us from making a change which will have a positive effect. We can try to help some of you understand why the was made though, which is what I've been working to do all morning.
The fact is, what we're doing here is positive. If it wasn't, we wouldn't do it. Sure, some flavor distinction is being lost concerning the two factions. Other distinctions exist and still more will become present as new content is released. What's important is realizing that much more is being gained, and when you're playing the Burning Crusade and engaging in the new available content you'll quickly realize that this was the best possible course of action.
Guess what, you'll likely be having a lot of fun despite which side of the fence you're currently on at the moment as a result of the announcement.
Echt DE reden om BC te kopen voor mij.quote:We don't have any plans to increase the raid size for expansion. If anything we're focused on creating smaller player capped raid dungeons for the Burning Crusade as we've stated as early as when we hosted the BlizzCon event.
