Als je toch wat wilt bereiken is het effectiever om als actieve burger in te spreken tijdens raadscommissievergaderingen (met beeldmateriaal) en vooraf de pers erover in te seinen. Dan raak je niet verzeild in het partij-politiek-gekonkel.

Sebastien Josse's kids did a remarkable job in clawing back into the podium fight almost unannounced while all eyes were on the fight for second between Pirates and Brasil 1. Despite a mainsail almost in rags after repeated damage in the Suthern Ocean, ABN AMRO TWO managed to hang on close enough to the two Farr boats in the lighter winds so they could then use their superior sail carrying power in the latter stages when conditions were fast reaching, the avowed best point of sail for the Juan Kouyoumdjian boats. In the end they couldn't quite catch Paul Cayard's Pirates, but they managed to overtake Torben's boys and take third some two miles ahead.
Plenty of supporters wait for the blue and yellow boat to cross the line, prepared to cheer their heroes to the echo and recognise there magnificent achievemnt in creating the campaign, building the boat and getting this far. It might be something of a tradition for New Zealanders like Mike Sanderson and many of his crew to take part in and win this round the world race, but this is the first ever attempt at such an offshore campaign for anyone in Brazil.
