Mail terug van Joe!
Maybe we need to have a "Joe Berry" convention. My wife and I would be pleased to attend (if someone pays for our trip :-) ).
BB> The guy who uses the picture as an avatar became quite popular on
BB> the forum because of the cool image on his avatar. He's been using
BB> that image for many years now (he once dug it up on google image
BB> search) and recently we all kind of started wondering who it actually was.
BB> The photo was even so popular, that other users used it to edit
BB> existing pictures, because of the photo's popularity and it fits
BB> well on a lot of other people :-)
BB> A couple of these 'photoshops' are visible here:

http://tinypic.com/juuw5u.jpgVery cute pictures. One comment, however. Unfortunately, I am a little uncomfortable with the first picture (p1888.jpg). I'm an orthodox Jew and seeing myself in such a situation is not really appropriate for me. I know there's nothing you can really do as it wasn't your picture. But if you can act as an advocate for me, I would appreciate it. (Besides, the girls look WAY too young for me :-).)
BB> When we first heard the news about your name some users went looking
BB> on google & altavista for information (that's also why I asked for a
BB> recent picture). We dug up some images that looked like yours, but
BB> there was quite a difference. We now think that the person of those
BB> images is a different Joe Berry:

http://www.milodesign.com/chs71/srphotos/berry-joe.jpgBB> Looks like he's into computers and wrote a book or something :-)
You are correct, Ben. Neither of those pictures are me. I too am into computers. I'm a software engineer at EMC Corp doing software development in Java. I've been in the computer business since 1968.
Although I haven't written a book, I have written well over a hundred articles in trade journals.
BB> Anyway, I hope to have cleared things out for you. We are very happy
BB> to finally know more about possibly the most popular user icon on
BB> the forum, which counts about 120 000 registered members. Think of
BB> it as an honor ;-)
BB> The user who uses the avatar, nicknamed "BrauN" also would like to
BB> say thanks and he wants you to know that if you ever are in Tilburg
BB> (NL), you're always welcome to stop by for some coffee ;-)
If we do ever get back to Europe, I will make an effort to say hello
-- especially with an offer of coffee.
Let me know if there's anything else you need to know about me. As long as it doesn't include my social security number and bank account numbers :-).
Best Wishes,
Joe
