Radioshowsquote:On the producing side, Menno’s massive debut single “Guanxi” on Anjunabeats has sent crowds into melodic bliss all across the globe, receiving massive support from the likes of Dj Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, John Askew, Agnelli & Nelson, John 00 Flemming and many others! Not only did it top sales and music charts all over the world, it was also voted as Future Favorite on Armin van Buuren’s “A State of Trance” show. The track also won the weekly web vote on Ministry of Sound Radio twice in a row, got played in the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and reached shivering heights in the Dutch Dance Charts!
Not long after Guanxi Menno became ASOT Future Favorite again with his track “Menno de Jong pres. Halcyon – Watermark”, released on Swedish top trance label Captured Music. Whilst in the meantime his track “Myth – Millionfold” on Gesture Music (with a remix from nr. 32 in DJ Mag, Markus Schulz) was high up in the Belgian dance charts as well as international top DJs playlists, and Sayla – Second Thoughts (on Dedicated) was absolutely hammered by Paul van Dyk at almost all of his gigs and sets.
Early 2005 saw the start of something that is growing beyond anticipated proportions. Menno founded Intuition Recordings together with his partner in crime Paul Moelands (Re:Locate / Octagen), in co-operation with top trance label Fundamental Recordings. Their first release from the talented Jonas Steur called “Castamara / Silent Waves” is caressed by every top DJ in the scene, especially Armin & Tiesto. The second release on the label will be a long awaited track from Menno de Jong himself titled “Tundra”, a melodic monster to be released near the end of June.
Having won the prestigious DJ Connections and DI.fm UK Trance Revolution competition has gave Menno one of the most impressive online residencies available. Not long ago this changed to him having his own shows on ETN.fm and XFM (weekly Intuition Radio Show) and DI.fm (monthly Menno Solo), being highlighted as one of the best alternatives for ASOT and Global DJ Broadcast, with an enchanting blend of Progressive Trance, Trance and Tech’trance.
His appearance in the DJ scene goes a lot further then radio shows. In the past year he has appeared in clubs and at events in the USA (Washington DC and Los Angeles), Canada, Germany (The legendary Technoclub in Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg), Sweden, Spain and pretty much every top trance related venue in the Netherlands. His agenda for the coming year already promises gigs in Finland, Norway, France (Paradise in the City, first ever Trance festival in France), Switzerland, a tour in Australia and New Zealand and many more countries to follow! This summer will also be a highlight, having his own truck (as Intuition Recordings) on the prestigious Fast Forward Dance Parade in Rotterdam, the biggest Dance parade after the Love Parade. This is accompanied by a successful bi-annual “Intuition Recordings Event” in Dutch Super clubs. This has all resulted in legendary gigs next to top DJs such as Marco V, Rank 1, Mark Norman, Signum, Misja Helsloot, Perry O’Neil, Dumonde, Cor Fijneman, Cosmic Gate, Talla2XLC, Ton TB, Mojado, Ronski Speed, Ron van den Beuken, Airwave, Precision, Ozgur Can, Sander van Doorn, and radio appearances on Ministry of Sound, Vibe101fm, Global DJ Broadcast and many other top stations and shows.
