You will need Forensic Aquisition Utilities here:
http://users.erols.com/gm(...)0.1034%20(beta1).zipYou will need to download this torrent here:
http://thepiratebay.org/details.php?id=3368775What you need:
1. A computer with a CPU that can handle sse2 (sse3 preferred and
will increase speed, as will having 1GB+ RAM and an intel cpu
over 3Ghz). Socket A (Athlon XPs) are not supported.
2. The Deadmoo VMWare image (tiger-x86.tar.bz2).
3. DD application (forensic-aquisition-utilities).
4. A spare hard drive, at least 6GB, inside a PC with a windows
installation.
Directions:
1. UnRAR (unzip) forensic-aquisition-utilities. Copy the contents of
the "System" folder into the "C:\Windows\System" directory. Make
a folder on the C:\ drive (My Computer>C:\) called "dd" and copy
the contents of UnicodeRelease into it.
2. Unzip the tiger-x86 file. Transfer the tiger-x86-flat.img to
the C:\ drive as well (this is mainly for convienence, as you will
see.
*Certain unzipping programs seem to take issue with this file.
Best bet it to right-click and choose extract files, otherwise
just double-clicking seems to be unresponsive.
3. Open the Command Prompt (Start>Programs>Accessories). Type in:
dd if=c:\tiger-x86-flat.img of=\\.\PhysicalDrive1
Assuming the location of tiger-x86-flat.img is on your c:\ drive
and your second hard drive is installed (PhysicalDrive1). This
will copy the img to your second hard drive, and will take up
to 30 minutes, depending on things.
4. Now you must turn off your comp, and switch your extra hard drive
that you just installed OSX on and make it the main drive. You
can do this sometimes in the BIOS or by opening up the computer
and switching the cables/pins around. Either way, you must get it
to boot from that drive.
5. When your turn on the computer again, it should boot to OS X. The
first thing it will say when booting is ask you to press any key
to see a list of option, and you want to do this. It will then
bring you to a boot: prompt. Now, the first time you do this, your
going to want to change the Administrator password so that you
can actually log onto the computer. At the boot prompt type -s
to go into single user mode. Type "sh /etc/rc" at the prompt. It
will take a while to load a bunch of crap, wait until you are back
at a prompt (localhost@root or whatever). Then type:
"passwd deadmoo". It will ask you for a new password. Give one,
then press enter (your typing may be a bit delayed, and you wont
see the characters onscreen in typical Unix fashion. Confirm and
type "reboot".
*If you are unable to type, it is because it may not like your
mouse and keyboard. Make sure they are either both USB or both
PS/2 and trying switching them around if its not working.
6. Now, after you have restarted, and are back at the boot: prompt,
just press enter. If OS X gets to the login screen, your are all
set. If you get an error saying you need to restart your computer,
reboot and at the boot: prompt type "-x" to get into safe mode. If
it still throws an error, your hardware is incompatible, the end.
7. At the login screen, type in your new password. OSX will load, and
you are all set. You may or may not have network/sound, and if you
dont have sse3 you will not be able to use iTunes. Speed will
depend on your comp. I do not recommend letting it idle, it tends
to freeze up.
8. You now have a hard drive with a bootable OSX that can be
transferred wherever. Using the BIOS, you can also configure a
dual-boot sort of thing. Have fun!
