Gisteravond nog een stukje "The hands that built America"!

Which movie?

Magic is the word that I can't get out of my head. What a brilliant story, what a brilliant script, what brilliant direction, and what brilliant performances from the two young leads.

has obviously seen enough of these movies to know which side of the line to stay on and avoids so much mawkish schmaltz that would have pervaded the film had Hollywood proper got their hands on it. Thank you ! for a beautiful, heart-warming film that left me with a tear in my eye and feeling good about the world. Until I came out of the cinema and saw a chav chucking litter on the floor...

A thoroughly enjoyable film but with some real weight that sees you leave the cinema wishing you could study it as an exam text in the future so that you can try to understand fully all the varied ideas it contains. That having been said it is also perfectly viewable on a much simpler level, "feel good enjoyment". It surprised me how well it kept the 12 or so young members of the audience I saw it with quiet as it isn't really for under 10's. (This could be made more obvious before you buy a ticket as I am sure some of the families were not really expecting what they got!) The performance of the young actors is outstanding, especially the youngest. It will not be everybody's "cup of tea" but I really would go and see it and judge for yourself.
