Heb de DVD dit weekend binnen gekregen, en moet zeggen dat hij geniaal is!! Erg cool om al die oude clips weer eens terug te zien.

Vindt niemand dan "The Way It Is" van AONO goed?
Dat nummer is juist een vooruitgang van ze, vind ik dan. Niet zoals de vorige albums/nummers een soort "stoerdoenerij" maar een goed funky nummer maken!

The Prodigy rulez, zeker hun oudere werk
Kga de greatist hits zeker halen

Ik vond ze goed in de HMH ondanks dat ik voor 100 euri werd opgelicht

Heb je de Sub Focus remix van SMBU nog niet gehoord. Die blaast die Pendulum remix 3 maal rond de aarde.

Ik vond 'm nogal slap, de Pendulum remix. Het lijkt wel alsof ze alleen de beat hebben veranderd en er een vervormde baslijn tussen hebben gedropt. Voor de rest klinkt 'ie precies hetzelfde als het origineel. Nee, geef mij dan maar die fantastiese Checmical Brothers remix!

Ik vond hem op het begin ook niet relaxed die pendulum mix, maar op de een of andere manier trek ik hem wel goed nu!

Voodoo people (pendulum remix) is erg vet. Videoclip trouwens ook.

Hoezo over hun hoogtepunt heen, de clip was voor een remix niet een Prodigy track. En idd als je haar niet goed zit is het echt gedaan met je carriere, dan maakt het niet uit dat je 5 avonden achter elkaar Brixton Academy uitverkoopt. Als je er afgelopen vrijdag bij was geweest dat weet je zeker dat Prodigy absoluut nog niet over hun hoogtepunt heen is. Volgend jaar nieuw album!

Uit het interview:
Neko: You’ve done this video for Voodoo People Pendulum Remix, where you have people blindfolded run around in a forest. Who came out with this idea?

LH: The director.

Neko: Sure you must have had different treatments proposed to you, what made you choose this particular one?

LH: The reason why is the remix has constant movement. And to do a car chase is just dull, it’s really obvious, you know. The original track, Voodoo People, the video we had for that had constant movement, with the slightly naff James Bond rip off we did. We laugh at it now but it’s kind of cool. We had a good time doing it, you know. It was funny watching it.

The idea was to keep the movement there. The idea is actually from a Spanish movie, I can’t remember the name, but it’s from a Spanish film. And it’s pretty straightforward. We were not going to be in it. – but then we had a few stupid cameo roles, you know.

I felt - not uncomfortable – but I felt really kind of detached from that remix, cause it’s got nothing to do with me, know what I mean?

So it’s odd, it felt a bit bizarre being in that video, it’s weird doing a video for a remix of my band.

I wish I’d done the mix. But, I can’t remix my own songs; it’s the fucking hardest thing for me to do. Because the originals are what they are, I can’t do a better mix of it, you know. I can make it sound better – but I can’t make a completely different version of it, it’s the hardest thing, I always come back to what it was. It’s a weird thing for us to be in that video, it’s not something I’d do again.

Neko: And no Motorola sponsorship …

LH: OK, that’s shite, I had to laugh when you said that!

I actually don’t know - I never looked at it that way. The guy just handed me this mobile phone and said “use this!”

Neko: He probably had a deal.

LH: I didn’t get a phone out of it! I’m pure Nokia. But no one can ask me that – that’s insulting, ha ha. No one will sponsor me.

er staat natuurlijk ook bij dat het mijn mening is.

maar de muziek heeft het voor mij niet meer.. het klinkt nogal saai...
zoals dat nummer dat ze live spelen.. i'm just a cunt oid.. ik vind dat dus echt 3 keer niks.

Daar komt een vervolg op als het nieuwe album klaar is (eind 2006). Begin 2006 komt er wel een Back To Mine uit van Liam:

Enter long-term worldwide deal with new label

THE PRODIGY are back with their own new label, and this time they're doing it their way. Always fiercely independent, the band have decided to set up their new label Ragged Flag, which will be the platform for their next album release and will subsequently act as an outlet for new talent that they find.

Backed by UK Independent label Cooking Vinyl, the deal will allow the band to continue to enjoy total creative control over all aspects of their music and how it is presented.

Prodigy founder member Liam Howlett commented : '"We have been planning this for a while and we are looking forward to building our label up, starting off with the release of the new Prodigy album. We have recorded a few songs already for this next album and they are sounding big and mean!"

"The Prodigy are one of the most relevant bands to today's world," said Cooking Vinyl's Managing Director Martin Goldschmidt. "It is a real honour to be entrusted with handling affairs for Ragged Flag. This is a fantastic start to 2007, and it is the start of a new era for Cooking Vinyl."

The Prodigy are currently in the studio working on the follow up to the number 1 albums "The Fat Of The Land", "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned" and "Their Law".
