Geen nieuwe cd dus, maar Lateralus op vinyl
The August 23rd date being bandied about on the web for the release of LATERALUS on vinyl sounds pretty good, but due to the production factors involved, there might be a slight delay, hopefully no more than a week. So, as it now stands, although we can hope for the projected August 23rd release date, let's just say "the end of August" to be safe (if that's possible!). Anticipating your questions, I'll try to get some more details in a day or so to post on the site.

Als je verder leest op toolband.com staat er dat er ook gewoon een nieuw album op stapel staat. TOOL wil alleen nog niks kwijt over de release. Ik ben in ieder geval gerustgesteld.

YES … but for various reasons the album is being recorded in relative secrecy… I would say even more so than past recording sessions and related TOOL projects. Since this is the band’s decision and, ultimately, they are the ones in charge of the website (as well as being some of my closest friends), I am not going to betray their trust (although I can’t resist hiding a few things amid seemingly unrelated posts), even though I am painfully… painfully... painfully aware that there are some Tool enthusiasts out there who seem to need this info, not unlike some junkies need a heroin fix. That said, when members of the band and/or their manager decide to release certain details pertaining to the recording process, as well as any projected time-tables, etc., it will most certainly be posted on the band’s official website. To think otherwise is, quite frankly, absurd! This could be tomorrow, or two days from now, or in a couple of weeks or even a month from now. At this stage, I honestly don’t know. But what I do know is that the members of the band are working hard and, as the saying goes, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I hope this answers your question.

Ik ben toch wel benieuwd wat het nu eigenlijk is, als het al iets is. Ik dacht dat ze nog bezig waren met opnemen van de nieuwe CD en heb er verder ook niks over gelezen. Het kan de DVD zijn maar ze laten het dan wel erg stilletjes voorbij komen. Although it might not get mentioned on the next CD, for the past couple of weeks, a multi-tasking chef Maynard has been providing the barbecue for his fellow band mates to consume at lunch breaks during the recording process. However, last Thursday (or maybe it was Friday), a guy named Joe (not Ron!) something or other who is working with the band grilled up some kind of sausages that were described as “excellent.” Knowing this is a bit vague for many Tool enthusiasts who want specifics about the recording process, tomorrow I will attempt to find out some more details about these sausages of Joe’s.

Gister kon een medewerker van de Plato (muziekzaak) in Zwolle niet in de computer zien dat er een DVD of CD op komst is van TOOL. Terwijl er op sommige (NLse) site wel de release-datum van Teleincision staat op 15/16 augustus. Confusing, aint it???

ja... en Shout van Tears for Fears heeft Disturbed ook gecoverd te beluisteren op de vorige cd. Klinkt lekker! Toen ik jong was vond ik Tears for Fears al gaaf. Ik zie coveren niet zo snel als een verkrachting van het nummer maar meer als een eer voor die zanger(es) of band.

Iemand enig idee wat voor gitaar hij in de handen heeft op de eerste foto?? Vast wel een Gibson (dacht ik zo??) maar wat voor type enzoo??

Dat is idd een Gibson Les Paul Custom, in een Silverburst kleur. Er zijn er in de jaren tachtig maar een beperkt aantal van gemaakt in die kleur (andere Les Pauls zijn er natuurlijk legio), omdat ze snel verkleurden en (schijnbaar) omdat de verfsoort de klank zou beïnvloeden. Hij (Adam Jones) heeft er volgens mij een aantal, juist omdat hij dat effect van de verf op de klank mooi vindt.
