Ik wil in principe wel graag, alleen niet 'alleen', en ik zit op het moment vrij krap (de 24ste komt de stufi, dus nog 14 dagen doen met 30 euro ongeveer...). Ja, dat Eventim is echt super 2 dagen later had ik de kaartjes al in huis. Thuis bezorgd door DHL. Düsseldorf was inderdaad super, halve zaal zat vol met Nederlandersquote:Op donderdag 6 april 2006 08:55 schreef Springsteen27 het volgende:

Ik heb twee kaartjes gescoord. Sinds vrijdagmiddag 14.00 uur als nummer één in Roosendaal voor het postkantoor gezeten. Hier toch zo'n acht mensen geholpen...lang leve het postkantoor!

Voor mijn gevoel was het trouwens rustiger bij de postkantoren/GWK's/Free record Shops dan de vorige keer. Bij mij stonden er om 10 uur een 7 mensen, waarvan de eerste 5 nog een kaartje hebben weten te bemachtigen (en nummer 4 en 5 kwamen pas om 9.30 uur opdagen ...). Als het concert in de Ahoy (of zelfs de Kuip) was geweest, heb ik het gevoel dat er meer mensen op af zouden zijn gaan komen ...
Misschien juist dat het aantal beschikbare kaarten (3500 a 4000) veel mensen heeft afgeschrikt?

Op die manier heb ik op verscheidene keren een aantal concertkaartjes weten te bemachtigen. Vandaag voor het eerst naar We Shall Overcome, the Seeger Sessions geluisterd. Het is wennen om Bruce "honky-tonk" folk te horen spelen. Ik weet nog niet zo goed wat ik er van moet vinden. Het is veelal "up-tempo" vrolijke folk. Het klinkt een beetje Iers.
Het album maakt me op dit moment voornamelijk nieuwsgierig naar Pete Seeger. Behalve zijn naam en dat hij zo'n beetje de meest linkse Amerikaan is, ben ik niet bekend met zijn werk. Ik ga me eens wat meer verdiepen in het werk van Pete Seeger

8/4:
Bruce and the Seeger Sessions band finished up a fourth straight day of
rehearals today at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park.
I didn't make it down there to the afternoon but some other fans filled
me in on what happened in the morning.
They started playing at 9:55 a.m. and the morning session consisted on
them working on some "Bruce" songs.
1. You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch).
Someone told me the song had lyrics from Open All Night and State
Trooper in it. Including the line: "License, registration."
2. Cadillac Ranch.
Had lyrics from Sam Phillips' Mystery Train (song performed by Elvis)
mixed in.
3. Devils & Dust.
They said it sounded really nice. Had a harp and a violin and nice
vocals from the female backup singers. They also said it was real nice
to hear this with a band and Bruce at one point told the band he was
"looking for a Civil War sound.
They broke at 12:30 p.m and restarted up at 1 p.m.
4. Oh, Mary, Don't You Weep
5. John Henry.
A big finish from the band on this one.
6. Johnny 99
Again what those there called a "fun-ky" version. Bruce has a
high-pitched voice on the lyrics toward the end of the song.
7. Old Dan Tucker
8. Eyes On the Prize.
9. Open All Night
I'll say what I said before: This will be a showstopper! Going to be
lots of fun. The horns are great. At one point Bruce yells out "All
Right!" and the band comes back and says "All Right" about six straight
times, it will really have the crowd into it.
Bruce worked on the ending of it one more time.
10. We Shall Overcome
Very moving version. Nice accordian throughout and the backup singers
really add a lot.
11. Pay me My Money Down.
A lot of fun also. Again, I think this may be the song Bruce closes the
main set with. There was a tuba solo at one point.
At the end he said: "Thank you very much ladies and gentleman!" and
even threw in a "The June Taylor Dancers!" a reference to the dancers
on the Jackie Gleason Show.
He then said "Thank you. It was a fabulous week!"
They finished just before 2 p.m.
I didn't hang around to see Bruce leave but a friend remained and told
me he left at 3:30 p.m. He did not stop to sign autographs or shake
hands with anyone.
Some other notes: Not that many people around at all. A dozen at the
most and most of them were the same people who were around yesterday
and at other rehearals over the past few weeks.
Someone told me that Bruce told the band during the morning sessions
how "The London show sold out in six minutes!"
I've liked what I've heard at the rehearsals and I'm very much looking forward to the shows.

Some pedal steel guitar and violin. A real "hoe-down" song.
They worked at the ending a few times and then Bruce gave a big "Woooooooooohhh!"
They then stopped for about a half hour before resuming.
15. Shenandoah.
Worked on the closing a few times. More violin.
16. Jacob's Ladder
They finished up at 5:15 p.m.
Not many fans around. Saw some familiar faces earlier on the beach but for most of the afternoon there was three people. A few more arrived toward the end.
Lots of solos from the different musicians during many of the songs.

A beautiful day on the beach in Asbury Park brought out the most interesting days of rehearsals from Bruce Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band with some real unique songs played!
Again the venue was Convention Hall and the music started at 10 a.m.
1. My City of Ruins
I was told this had some organ, horns and violin
2. Turn Turn Turn
Yes the song made famous by the Byrds. They worked on this a couple of times.
According to a google search the words to this song are adapted from the bible, book of ecclesiastes and the music is by Pete Seeger.
3. A "mystery" song.
Bruce worked on this a few times before breaking for lunch.
No one could quite figure out what it was, but a little detective work got us our answer later in the afternoon.
They broke for lunch and many members of the band, including Bruce, were eating outside, on the deck on the south side of Convention Hall, where the Tiki Bar is during the summer.
They resumed at 1:05 p.m.
4. If I Should Fall Behind.
A totally reworked version from anything we have heard before, totally different than what was played in rehearsals a few weeks ago. One fan said "It was like a waltz."
5. My Father's House
I heard them working on this last week. It's again a different version from anything we've heard before. It's very haunting and as someone said "kind of spooky."
He played this twice.
6. The surprise of the day! of the year!
It started out as "The Wish." We could make out some lyrics. Then all the suddent Bruce shifted directions and went into:
"Those Daring Young Men on the Flying Trapeze."
Yes, the song with these lyrics:

His actions are graceful, all girls he does please,
And my love he has stolen away."
Really incredible! It was a lot of fun and had us all laughing.
Some accordian and violin along with it.
You never know what Bruce might pull out!

Kind of a ballad, we were struggling to hear the lyrics.
After rehearsals we asked a couple of the band members and they told us it was a song Ry Cooder has done called: "How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live?" which is on Ry Cooder's debut album in 1970.
It was originally recorded by Blind Alfred Reed in 1929.
Music ended about 2:15 p.m.
Bruce left at 3:15 p.m.
He came out and stopped and signed a few autographs and shook hands with people. There were abot 20 people waiting.
A lot of schools were closed this week, so some of the people listening brought their children down to the beach.
About 20 to 25 people listening at the most.
There will be no rehearsals on Friday.

A beautiful day on the beach and a a full day of music from Bruce Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band at Convention Hall in Asbury Park, N.J.
The final rehearsal before tomorrow's Asbury Park show was filled with many songs from the new album, some Bruce songs and a song appropriate for New Orleans.
The music started around 10:30 a.m.:

Bruce and many members of the band came out to eat on the balcony on the south side of Convention Hall. Bruce gave a quick wave to a few fans.

Think of the version we first heard at the Christmas shows in 2000. The horns sound great. Bruce worked on the ending, the part "With these hands" a few times with the backup singers. It sounded great. A powerful ending.

18. You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)
Totally reworked from any version that we've heard of it before. The horns are prominent. It's a gospel-type version, something you would hear by a choir in Sunday church but fast paced. Someone said they could imagine hearing it in the "Blues Brothers" movie.
19. When the Saints Come Marching In.
A slow version. Very soft. Didn't have the band come in for a rousing finish or anything. I would think we will hear this in New Orleans.
Bruce then just worked on various parts of different songs.

20. How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live
Bruce and the band did this three more times.
They finished up around 3:45 p.m.
I had to leave so I don't know if they played more, a friend was going to call me with any other updates.

Fans today and yesterday were invited to be a part of the Good Morning America taping on Tuesday (April 25) morning. We were able to put our names on a list and give it to Bruce's security.
I didn't go down to rehearsals on Tuesday but a friend told me Bruce worked on "The Ghost of Tom Joad" a few times and also did "The Daring Young Men on the Flying Trapeze." again.
I'm looking forward to seeing the material performed live tomorrow night. After hearing many of the rehearsals for more than a month, it will be nice to see the band perform it.

The first rehearsal show, and the public debut of Springsteen with his 17-piece Seeger Sessions Band. And the first words out of our reporter's mouth after the concert: "Do you like music? Do you like Bruce Springsteen? Then you're gonna love this show." A spirited Dixieland romp, already a success that the '92-93 experiment with other musicians reached for and arguably never achieved. The rehearsal aspect was evident, as Bruce acknowledged, with some rough edges, miscues, and sound problems; but as he directed his stageful of players, under a pair of old chandeliers, it was that rare thrill of music being made right before your eyes -- a glorious noise. A glorious lament, in a way: there was a political edge throughout the night, subtle yet unmistakable, particularly in the three-pack of "Devils & Dust," "Mrs. McGrath" (dedicated to Cindy Sheehan), and "How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live?" The last of these is a Blind Alfred Reed song from the '20s, covered more recently by Ry Cooder and the Del-Lords. Springsteen took the time to set up many of tonight's numbers, offering some history to introduce songs like "Old Dan Tucker" and "Eyes on the Prize." In all, the band performed eleven songs from the album plus "Buffalo Gals" from the flipside; and six Bruce-penned songs from his catalog: "Johnny 99," "Adam Raised a Cain," "Devils & Dust," "Open All Night," "My City of Ruins," and "You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)." Bringing the total up to 20 songs (the show started at 7:30, ended at 9:35) were two unreleased covers: the aforementioned "Poor Man," and the show-closing "When the Saints Go Marching In." For another idea of the sound, as another concert-goer told us, "Think 'Walt Whitman's Niece,' from start to finish." Take the weekend to break out your copy of Billy Bragg & Wilco's Mermaid Avenue if you need a refresher... and we'll be back for more on Monday night.

The first rehearsal show, and the public debut of Springsteen with his 17-piece Seeger Sessions Band. And the first words out of our reporter's mouth after the concert: "Do you like music? Do you like Bruce Springsteen? Then you're gonna love this show." A spirited Dixieland romp, already a success that the '92-93 experiment with other musicians reached for and arguably never achieved. The rehearsal aspect was evident, as Bruce acknowledged, with some rough edges, miscues, and sound problems; but as he directed his stageful of players, under a pair of old chandeliers, it was that rare thrill of music being made right before your eyes -- a glorious noise. A glorious lament, in a way: there was a political edge throughout the night, subtle yet unmistakable, particularly in the three-pack of "Devils & Dust," "Mrs. McGrath" (dedicated to Cindy Sheehan), and "How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live?" The last of these is a Blind Alfred Reed song from the '20s, covered more recently by Ry Cooder and the Del-Lords. Springsteen took the time to set up many of tonight's numbers, offering some history to introduce songs like "Old Dan Tucker" and "Eyes on the Prize." In all, the band performed eleven songs from the album plus "Buffalo Gals" from the flipside; and six Bruce-penned songs from his catalog: "Johnny 99," "Adam Raised a Cain," "Devils & Dust," "Open All Night," "My City of Ruins," and "You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)." Bringing the total up to 20 songs (the show started at 7:30, ended at 9:35) were two unreleased covers: the aforementioned "Poor Man," and the show-closing "When the Saints Go Marching In." For another idea of the sound, as another concert-goer told us, "Think 'Walt Whitman's Niece,' from start to finish." Take the weekend to break out your copy of Billy Bragg & Wilco's Mermaid Avenue if you need a refresher... and we'll be back for more on Monday night.

Much better show tonight, musically tighter and some tweaks made that
helped in regards to some of the problems I had with the other night.
Biggest improvement, dropping Adam for Cadillac Ranch, which was played
to the tune of Mystery Train with "the train I ride lyrics" mixed in.
Also, a nice waltz version of If I Should Fall Behind. It worked well
in terms of this show, though I didn't think the arrangement was as
good as some of the others we've heard of the song (and there are
many). And Open All Night was better with the Andrews Sister break
removed from the middle of the song and moved up to the start, where it
took place before Bruce even counted down into the song. In general,
the songs were played better.
Bruce and the band definitely seems to be having fun. After watching
tonight, there is no doubt I have a high regard for the music being
made on stage, I think they sounded really great and it will probably
only get better. That said, I still didn't feel much personal
connection to the material and this is not a tour where I'm going to
see tons of shows. After the show was over, even though every one else
I know was staying, I decided to skip tomorrow morning.
It seemed to me that the crowd wasn't that into it at points, though
Bruce was more engaged tonight with the crowd and later on he motioned
for people in the seats to get up and many did. Definitely in terms of
crowd participation the highlights are Pay Me and Jacob's Ladder. And
again I got the feeling during the show that it's going to be very
interesting to see how the show is received in sheds and arenas. The
show is definitely different, there is no doubt about that. This is
not a Bruce Springsteen you have seen before and I guess everyone is
going to have their own takes on how good or bad they think that is.

The fourth and final rehearsal show opened with the debut of a stunning "Long Black Veil," sounding pretty faithful to The Band's rendition; Bruce brought "Adam Raised a Cain" back to the set, dropping "Jesse James," "Erie Canal," and "When the Saints Go Marching In." Closing the show in place of "Saints" was another debut: "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze." (Seriously. Think "Wild Billy's Circus Story" meets Tom Waits.) But not everything was done with the greatest of ease at this 5:30 show: the lower-energy crowd wasn't quite as "in concert" with the performers (chalk that up to the matinee timing, perhaps), and "Cadillac Ranch" was a Mystery Trainwreck. "We needed to fuck up!" said Bruce after that one, suggesting better now than later -- this was still a rehearsal, after all. And with that out of their system, and the rehearsing behind them, this is a band that's primed and ready for their big New Orleans debut this Sunday.
In a new Associated Press story, Springsteen looks ahead to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and says, "We're rehearsing, but we're also thinking, 'What do you want to say to those folks?'" And indeed, throughout these rehearsals, it's been clear to the preview audiences that thoughts of New Orleans hover over the whole proceedings. That begins with the sound itself, which embraces musical traditions from the Crescent City -- in Asbury, Bruce mentioned his band's "debt to that melting pot of R&B and jazz." But it extends to the show's topicality, too. "There's a lot of music we have that cuts right to the heart of what's going on there," Bruce told the Associated Press. "When the Saints Go Marching In," played at three out of the four rehearsals, is an obvious one, but songs like "We Shall Overcome" and "My City of Ruins" are imbued with new meaning post-Katrina, and "My Oklahoma Home" took on modern relevance with Bruce's intro: "The biggest displacement of American citizens since the Dust Bowl has been New Orleans."

Ik heb vandaag de cd gekocht ja weet het beetje laat, maar wam maar geen cdwnkel tegen.
Bij thuiskomst de dvd opgezet en lekker door de kamer laten knallen, mijn zoon ging voor de tv staan en ging mee dansen
Vorig jaar zat hij tijdens een intervieuw met Bruce op tv heel aandachtig te kijken en wij dachten dat het toeval was, maar vandaag was hij dus niet bij de tv weg te slaan en hij bleef dansen.
Hij heeft de verkeerde naam gekregen toen hij geboren werdwe vonden Bruce iets t duidelijk en durfde dat niet aan
