OK, some of my IMDB friends obviously do not get it, so here goes: THIS IS A PUNK ROCK FILM. Put aside other fine films and any comparison of them to this, put aside the whole 'disappointed-gorehound' thing (want simpleminded slashers? this ain't it!) and the fact of low production values and bad lighting. This film belongs to a genre (that doesn't legitimately exist outside my own head, I'll grant you)-the Punk Rock Film- in which cheap production, city sleaze and blaring noise are considered assets.

Yet another example of how a film gets elevated above the status it deserves purely because the government made a fuss over it. There's a huge slew of films which have earned legendary status even though they quite simply suck. There are no redeeming factors to this film, its absolutely terrible. Ive had more fun actually drilling holes in a wall. The film seems to just be a filler until they have a reason to show someone actually getting killed. Its not big or clever - or any good at all.If you want a film that came under fire from the government but thats good watch Evil Dead. This is one of the worst films I have ever seen, I only bothered because it might have been useful for my film studies course - it wasn't worth it.
