OMG ! zag net een supervet concert van muse op mtv half 1 tot 1 toevallig zag ik het, met o.a plug in baby , muscle museum enz echt supervet gefilmd ook , misschien wordt het wel herhaald of het was een herhaling ik weet niet... bij 1 of ander rockfestival, sorry ik ben een btje muse-n00b

Het was een herhaling, het was vorige week ook al op tv. Het was op Rock am Ring

Falling Away With You... is dat een cover? Schijnt niet zo te wezen, maar vooral dat rustige gedeelte doet mij enorm aan een ander nummer denken... kan alleen niet op dat nummer komen...

En verrassend genoeg (vind ik) is Ruled by Secrecy uitgegroeid tot mijn favoriete nummer van Absolution.

Bliss staat bij mij nog steeds heel hoog.

Wanneer komen ze weer naar nederland ?

Ze hebben sowieso erg veel goede nummers

Ik heb wel gelezen dat ze denken dat het nieuwe album richting The Strokes zal gaan.

Dat zei Matthew in een interview met een of ander Engels blad. Hij was erg onder de indruk van de albums van The Strokes.

We’re working on a lot of different tracks, but usually the stuff we play live early doesn’t make it onto the album, but I think we need to start moving forward and start playing some new stuff, whatever it is."

Matt explained the unlikely link between Muse and his favourite New Yorkers. He said "I really like the fast tempo and really melodic stuff. I don’t think people would ever hear that within our songs because we’re a different style, but I think there’s some really strong melodies and some of that has really stuck with me."

But fans of the big music can rest assured that the UK’s premier space-rockers aren’t about to turn into a garage band.

"I’ve got one song that has definitely gone further," said Matt, "a fair bit further! I’m not sure how it’s going to be recorded. I think it’s a new category of epicness! But a lot of the stuff is a bit more stripped down, a bit more minimal and a bit more exposed as a three-piece band. I think it’s something we always try to do, but something happens and we just get carried away and it all just goes kind of overboard. I think there’s just this in-built thing in us that is always likely to take something to its furthest extreme. And I think we’re always trying to taper that with pulling back and being more minimal in our arrangements. With what we do there’ll always be that contradiction within songs and within albums between minimal straightforward stuff and ridiculously complex stuff."

The band release a new single, ’Butterflies And Hurricanes’, on Monday (September 20).

Vind Muse eeeeeeeeeecht te gek. Sowieso heeft Matthew Bellamy een geweldige aparte stem...zo'n klein iel ventje..zo'n stem: wauw
Origin of Symmetry is mijn favo zeedee.....luister standaard Bliss 's ochtends op weg naar college, moet mezelf echt inhouden om niet mee te gaan blèren in de metro.

Als hommage aan een van de beste bands ooit heb ik snel een wallpapertje geknutseld:

Het viel mij zelf erg op dat er geen leuke wallpapers te vinden zijn van Muse. Dus ja, dan zelf maar knutselen .

Muse is echt een goede band ja. Die zanger/pianist/gitarist is echt supergoed, en live klinkt het ook erg goed, terwijl de zanger toch per nummer moet kiezen tussen gitaar en piano

Brooding British rockers Muse have a surprise in store for fans on their next album.

The band has been touring for months behind its third album, Absolution, a characteristically intense and evocative effort that has garnered the longtime U.K. favorites significant U.S. recognition.

"It's nice to get that feeling of what it's like to be a new band again," Bellamy said of Muse's recent American success. "Over here, people seem to think we're all new and stuff."

Across the pond, Muse are known for having released 1999's Showbiz and 2001's Origin of Symmetry, and many have watched the band's climb from playing secret shows in rec halls as teenagers to winning the 2004 MTV Europe Video Music Award for Best Alternative Band (see "Outkast Win Big As Americans Dominate MTV Europe Awards").

"In the town I came from [Teignmouth, Devon]," Bellamy recalled, "there wasn't really much to do. One summer, we thought, 'Well, we've got nothing to do, so maybe we'll start playing some gigs and inviting our mates.' They were like secret parties for 15-year-old kids who weren't allowed to go to bars and drink."

Muse soon won a solid following and moved toward permanently curing their boredom by recording an album. They printed about a thousand copies of their first EP with the hard-earned dimes they made by spurning college for odd jobs near their homes. Then they took the album around to small record stores; they eventually secured a deal with Maverick Records in 1998.

Since then, Muse have won the NME Premier Award for Best New Artist in 2000 and opened for the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters and Bush.

"We always appreciate what we've got," Bellamy said, "especially this year."

While touring behind Absolution, the band experienced some major highs: playing the massive Glastonbury Festival, earning fans in the U.S. and receiving public praise from Metallica's James Hetfield, who said the band's album helped him cope during hard times. They also suffered crushing lows, including bassist Chris Wolstenholme breaking his wrist during the tour and the passing of drummer Dominic Howard's father.

"Dom's father died at one of our concerts," Bellamy said. "Right as we came offstage at Glastonbury, which is the biggest gig we've ever done in our lives, his father collapsed."

Muse's determination to expose their music to fans Stateside, and the strength of the bandmembers' bonds, carried them through.

"I think you need some kind of intimacy between the band," Bellamy said. "It's a point of reference that we can remember where we were before this all happened. I think that helps us get through those things."

Bellamy is channeling his emotion into writing new songs with a positive vibe. Where Absolution is characterized by lyrics infused with dramatic melancholy, fueled by speeding percussion and screaming guitars, on the next album, Bellamy is looking to "draw on things like optimism and hope."

Bellamy said Muse won't officially get started on the follow-up to Absolution for a few months. In the meantime, the band will finish up its tour and go through one more major personality change for a set of upcoming shows at the massive Earl's Court in London on December 19 and 20.

"I'm just trying to get my head around doing the biggest headlining gigs we've ever done in London," Bellamy said. "We've got to try to become a proper arena-rock band."

Tijdens de laatste 2 shows van de Absolution tour te Earls Court te London heeft muse weer een nieuw nummer gespeeld. Het nieuwe nummer heet A Crying Shame. Er gaan geruchten de ronde dat er ook een nieuwe dvd in de maak is van de Earls Court shows. (Matt kwam met een camera op om het publiek te filmen). Tom Kirk (tourmanager) heeft op het officiele muse forum laten weten dat ze proberen het label te overtuigen om een nieuwe dvd uit te brengen.

bij het begin vond ik Absolution ook niet veel aan,.... maar naar een paar keer luisteren begon ik het steeds beter te vinden...(maar het blijft wel het minste album van muse)
