Georgia president calls for 'total mobilization' over South Ossetia

Georgia and Russia edge towards war over South Ossetia

Reportedly, the Russian air forces have kicked of shelling that of Gori territory several minutes ago.

Prior Russian air jets have fired two shells in Kareli district; Georgia’s Internal Ministry released the corresponding information.

According to Ekaterine Zguladze, Deputy Internal Ministry the bombing has left seven wounded as a result.

Rusland is niet vertrouwen

TBLISI, Georgia (CNN) -- Russian television Friday showed a convoy of Russian tanks and said they were heading into the breakaway Georgian region of South Ossetia as escalating tensions over the region threatened to boil into full blown conflict.

The move came after Russia denounced as "aggressive" a Georgian troops military offensive to regain control over the province, vowing to respond.

NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer urged all sides to begin talks.

Volgens deze nieuwsbron heeft de Georgische president het over 150 Russische tanks en pantservoertuigen die Zuid-Ossetië binnentrekken.

Dat is inderdaad een gevaarlijk recept. Alleen er is geen sprake van een dergelijk recept. Ja, Rusland steunt Zuid-Ossetië (al voor de onafhankelijkheid van Kosovo, maar het is wel wat geïntensiveerd sindsdien, maar niet veel), en Georgië heeft al jaren een innige band met Amerika en Europa. Alleen, Amerika en Europa zijn lang niet zo betrokken bij Georgië als Rusland bij Zuid-Ossetië. Juist vanwege die soort conflicten zit Georgië niet bij de NAVO.

En Israël? Nou... Debka is niet erg betrouwbaar, naar mijn mening.
