Ik ben hier echt al veel te lang niet geweest. Wat een hoop nieuws. In mijn omgeving zitten wel meer Indy freaks dus ik ga hem zeker bekijken. En jammer dat Connery niet meedoet. Ik had hem graag teruggezien in een van zijn, vat mij betreft, leukste rollen.
Het wordt in ieder geval geen zielloos CGI-spektakel

Goeie beslissing. Pas als je geen CGI gebruikt, komt de echte creativiteit in het filmmaken naar boven. Dat betaalt zich vaak toch uit in veel menselijkere producties en geeft je niet het gevoel dat je naar een of ander computerspel zit te kijken.

Spielberg says he's promising this film is entirely for the fans. Ford is sitting next to him in costume, saying it's great to be back in the "dirty, sweaty clothes". Ray Winstone sits next to him in big boots, safari suit and donning a moustache. Shia LaBeouf appeared in leather jacket, jeans and with a light to moderate all over beard - obviously floored by the other three there. Spielberg brought out a chair with 'Marion Ravenwood' on the back and a surprisingly youthful looking Karen Allen appeared in costume saying it's great to be back.

Then April sees the release of volume one of Indiana Jones Adventures--a digest-sized graphic novel designed for the enjoyment of young readers as well as adults. The Indiana Jones Adventures volumes and the Omnibuses will continue on a quarterly basis--including Omnibuses for the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and the original Marvel run of Indiana Jones comics.

Destroyer of Worlds vind ik wel vet klinken, al duidt dat meervoudige "worlds" wel op een alienverhaallijn, die van mij persoonlijk niet hoeft

Dat Fourth Corner is juist wel een leuke speling op het vierde deel. En misschien komt Indy nu op plekken waar hij nog nooit eerder is geweest.

The 1993 Laserdisc release of Star Wars included an interview with George Lucas excitedly talking about the forthcoming DVD format and how Young Indiana Jones would be among the first and best content on the format. Better late than never I suppose. As previously reported The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles will finally be making its way to DVD. But God Bless George Lucas, it couldn't make it to DVD completely unaltered, the show is now apparently titled The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones. Make no mistake. This is not going to be the show as it aired on television back in the '90s.
Episodes have been put together and re-edited into small movies. The titles have been changed. Overall, the same material is here, but in a new format, and since the footage comes from episodes in a very different order than they originally appeared, any label like "Season One" would be meaningless. These feature length episodes are the same as appeared on VHS compilations some years back and include My First Adventure, Passion for Life, The Perils of Cupid, Travels with Father, Journey of Radiance, Spring Break Adventure and Love's Sweet Song which bring Indy in contact with everyone from Teddy Roosevelt to Nancy Stratemeyer (the real life inspiration for Nancy Drew).
Here's the fun part. The seven episodes come in a 12 DVD box set. The extras are not behind the scenes featuretes but 38 historical documentaries interviewing people like Gen. Colin Powell, Gloria Steinem, Henry Kissinger and the like.
The DVD set arrives on October 23rd from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Pff, was nooit zo van de Young Indy eigenlijk (mede omdat ik toen ik jong was al dat kindergedoe juist niet tof vond, ik had liever de Indy van Raiders!!!), maar als ik zo'n mooie box zie, moet ik em eigenlijk toch wel halen...
