Eind vorige maand werd bekend dat Ryan Coogler werkt aan een reboot van The X-Files (1993–2018). Inmiddels is er nieuws over de serie. De opnames van de pilot staan gepland voor mei en juni in Vancouver. Daarmee keert de productie terug naar een locatie die nauw verbonden is met de oorsprong van de franchise. De eerste vijf seizoenen van de oorspronkelijke serie werden eveneens in de Canadese stad opgenomen.

• Salkow is a 10-year-old character, and she is the daughter of a former biker. Having grown up in an unstable environment, she is considered wise beyond her years. The character is also described as athletic. The role must be played by an Indigenous actor.

• Willie is a male character in his 30s who is biracial. He is described as powerfully built and physically imposing. After serving time in prison, he is now trying to distance himself from the biker gang that once protected him.

• Jenn is a female character in her 30s who is Indigenous. She works as a Bureau of Indian Affairs police officer and assists with the investigation. The character is also noted to have a sports or athletic background.

• Julie is a female character in her 60s who is Indigenous. She works as a childcare provider and social worker. During the investigation, she is questioned by authorities and attempts to be helpful, but she becomes increasingly cautious about the direction the case is taking.

• Cimisah is a female character in her 30s who is Indigenous and the mother of a young girl. She struggled with her mental health prior to disappearing two years earlier. The role is listed as a non-speaking part.
