On the night of September 5, the authorities of the Russian city of Novorossiysk announced an attack by naval drones on the city.

The naval base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is located there.

At 01:23 a.m., Andrey Kravchenko, the city’s mayor, reported that an alarm siren had been activated due to an alleged attack by unmanned boats.

He also urged residents not to go ashore, stand near windows in buildings on the first shoreline, and take or post videos or photos of the attack.

Local social media users reported explosions in the sea near the city. The shooting sounds were also heard in Novorossiysk.

The Russian air-launched Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles that attacked Lviv on September 4 entered Ukrainian airspace via Belarus.

This is according to the Ukrainian airspace monitoring project “monitor.”

Two Russian supersonic MiG-31K interceptors reportedly launched missiles from the Tula region.

They reached Lviv at around 05:47 am and inflicted damage.

The Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration has delivered assistance to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Drones, electronic warfare equipment, communication systems, and other items were delivered to the soldiers defending Ukraine from Russian invaders in the Zaporizhzhia sector.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported on this.

He also published a photo of the equipment delivered to the military over the past week.

“Last week, military aid worth UAH 39.9 million for 18 military units was transferred to our defenders in the Zaporizhzhia sector,” the Regional Military Administration Head wrote in his Telegram channel.

Volunteer and blogger Serhii Sternenko reported on this.

He also released a video of the interception of this Russian drone in one of the sectors.

US authorities have exposed the Kremlin as the mastermind of a years-long influence campaign in Germany. The aim is to stoke social conflicts. The AfD plays an important role for Russia in this.

Now there is evidence from the USA : The Russian leadership has used considerable resources to try to stir up social conflicts in Germany and to worsen relations with other countries. The US Department of Justice has successfully launched an investigation into the operation, known as the "doppelg�nger" campaign, which has been running for over two years.

With the campaign and the mass of centrally controlled fake accounts on social media, texts in the Kremlin's interests have been spread almost continuously since spring 2022. US authorities have now shut down fake pages on the network - and presented evidence that shows that the trail to the huge influence campaign leads all the way to the top of the Kremlin. And that the campaign also aims to support the AfD .

The SMArt 155 is a German 155 mm shell specially designed to destroy enemy armoured vehicles. It is fired by a conventional howitzer, such as the German PzH 2000, and can travel up to 27.5 km. The SMArt 155 opens mid-air, releasing two separate projectiles. They descend under with the help of the deployed parachutes and scan the area for targets. When it detects a target underneath itself (a tank, a self-propelled howitzer, an infantry fighting vehicle) it fires high-velocity explosively formed projectile that penetrates the upper armour of that vehicle, which is usually the weakest. One SMArt 155 can destroy two targets.

The SMArt 155 is an expensive weapon, used since 1998. It is very difficult to hit a moving armoured vehicle with a conventional artillery shell. Meanwhile, the SMArt 155 is very effective in destroying Russian tanks even when they are riding in columns.

“It penetrates without problems any protection Russian machines may have. In addition, this type of projectiles can also work in places where the GPS signal is being jammed,” said Ukrainian soldier Andriy Kobzar. He said, by the way, that some other smart projectiles, such as the M982 Excalibur, sometimes struggle to cope with the challenges of the Russian electronic warfare systems. Kobzar personally had the pleasure of working with the SMArt 155.

The Polish Military Group has unveiled the ReconSea, a high-speed naval strike drone that uses hydrofoil technology.

Militarnyi’s reporters got a closer look at the development at MSPO 2024.

At the MSPO International Defence Industry Exhibition 2024 in Kielce, the Polish company presented a prototype of a light strike drone equipped with a 50-kilogram warhead.

The ReconSea design uses hydrofoil technology, which is exotic for the niche and consists of three downward-facing hydrodynamic surfaces and a submerged propulsion system.

Putin also accused Ukraine of undertaking “very dangerous terrorist attacks” on nuclear power plants in both the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine and Russia’s Kursk region, adding that one could “only imagine what would happen … to that entire part of Europe” were Russia to respond in kind.

Nevertheless, Putin also indicated that Russia was prepared to begin peace talks with Kyiv on the basis of a preliminary agreement reached between Russian and Ukrainian negotiators in the first weeks of the war, but which was never implemented. The de facto Russian leader also named China, India and Brazil as potential mediators in any future talks.

Addressing the indictment of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov in France, Putin said that he had in fact met the tech billionaire once many years ago in Moscow, contradicting Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov’s recent claim that the pair had never met.

While keen to stress that Russia had “no claims” against Durov itself, Putin said that many other foreign governments did, as Telegram was used by those who could “harm their activities”.

When asked for his thoughts on the upcoming US elections, the de facto Russian leader quipped with a wry smile that Russia would support the candidacy of Kamala Harris on the basis that her “infectious laugh” showed that she was “doing well”.

“Trump introduced more restrictions and sanctions on Russia than any other president has ever done before. And if Harris is doing well, then maybe she will refrain from actions of this kind,” Putin added.

Ukrainian Parliament approved the appointment of Andrii Sybiha as Ukraine's Foreign Minister, announced deputy Iryna Herashchenko.

According to her, 258 lawmakers voted in favor of Sybiha's appointment.

Sybiha served as Ukraine's Ambassador to Turkey from 2016 to 2021. In May 2021, he was appointed Deputy Head of the President's Office of Ukraine, where he handled foreign policy issues and the development of strategic partnerships.

In April 2024, he was appointed First Deputy Foreign Minister by government decision.

On September 4, a resignation letter from Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba was submitted to the Ukrainian Parliament.

On the same day, Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation supported Kuleba's resignation.

On September 5, Kuleba was dismissed from the position.

It was reported earlier that Zelenskyy has initiated a significant government overhaul, emphasizing the need for "new energy within the administration today." The President made this statement during a joint press briefing with Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris.

Companies seeking insurance for operations in Russia have seen a sharp increase in the insurance rates for commercial entities and reductions in liability limits because of Ukrainian drone attacks, Moscow’s state news agency Kommersant reported on Thursday.

According to its reporting, some companies operating in Russia can’t obtain any coverage, particularly in the regions bordering Ukraine, where the risks are high enough that more and more insurance companies will not issue protective policies.

Kommersant, citing Sergei Khudyakov, co-owner of the Russian insurance broker Mainsgroup, says that drone strikes are now categorized as terrorist attacks and sharp increases in rates, with the level governed by the nature of the facility and its location.

Anton Meltsov, founder of the company Insurance Broker AMsec24 says that rates for warehouse facilities have increased sevenfold while, unsurprisingly, they have increased by as much as 70 times for oil refineries and 120 times for industrial enterprises.

Spokespersons for the Sovcombank and Soglasie insurance companies say tariffs have risen and will continue to rise in line with the increased number and frequency of attacks.

"Until today, we hadn't been able to get to this point, high up in the tower, so we can assess in a much better way the damage that occurred," Grossi said in a video he posted on X, formerly Twitter. "This big structure is not usable in the future, so it will probably be demolished at some point."

A Ukrainian military serviceman told the Sniper Speaks Tegelam channel that the operation was carried out by the 15th “Kara-Dag” Brigade.

“The invaders wanted to block the road under the railroad crossing,” the soldier explained.

Canada intends to transfer a modern air defense system, NASAMS, to Ukraine early next year.

Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair said this in his interview with CBC News.

According to him, last year Canada joined the order placed by the United States for the production of 10 NASAMS systems.

Raytheon, the company that manufactures them, assures that it will transfer these weapons systems by the end of this year.

Anastasia Simes is also accused of a sanctions-busting scheme involving the purchase of art and antiques for sanctioned businessman Alexander Udodov. The department says she purchased art from galleries and auction houses that was shipped to her home in Virginia and then shipped to Russia.

The US Justice Department stressed that the Simes face up to 20 years in prison on each count. The cases are being investigated by the FBI's Washington office.

Conservative US influencers say if the allegations are proven, they were deceived by Russian media executives following the release of an indictment charging Moscow with interfering in the 2024 US election.

The indictment accuses state broadcaster RT, formerly Russia Today, of paying a Tennessee firm $10m (�7.6m) to "create and distribute content to US audiences with hidden Russian government messaging".

US media outlets identified the firm as Tenet Media, which describes itself as "network of heterodox commentators that focus on Western political and cultural issues".

Tenet Media, which was was not directly named in the indictment, was founded in 2022 by conservative Canadian YouTuber Lauren Chen and her husband Liam Donovan. Tenet has not commented publicly on the allegations and did not respond to a request for comment.

The network employs several well-known right-wing US influencers - such as Tim Pool, David Rubin and Benny Johnson - who say they are "victims" of the alleged plot if it is proven.
