Ben niet bekend met het standpunt van de andere 2 maar van Ireland is bekend dat die anti Israel is en nu dus op zoek zal zijn naar een stok om mee te slaan. Lijkt me begrijpelijk dat Israel hun daar niet bij helpt.

Egyptian President Anwar Sadat once called it the last war. But four decades after Sadat uttered those words, the Arab-Israeli conflict has no end in sight. The story of the war that Egyptians call the October War and Israelis know as the Yom Kippur War has never been thoroughly explored.
So what happened during those three weeks in October 1973?
To this day, both sides - Arabs and Israelis - claim to be the victors.
It was a war that brought the world to the brink of a nuclear confrontation between two global superpowers, the US and the Soviet Union.
It also gave the world a fuel crisis and a new entry in the dictionary 'Shuttle Diplomacy', as Henry Kissinger, the US secretary of state, flew from country to country in an effort to broker a peace deal.
Egypt's 2011 revolution and the toppling of the old regime resulted in the discovery and opening of many previously undisclosed files related to the war in October. It provided us with unprecedented access to participants in it and to the places where they fought.
The War in October draws on rare film archive selected from many sources around the world, along with graphic illustrations, maps, and animated sequences to plot the movements of forces in the many battlefields of the conflict.
The series features interviews with people who planned and fought in the three weeks of battles that took place on both the Egyptian and Syrian front, including characters from other countries that participated in the fighting - Iraqi, Jordanian, Moroccan and Palestinian. The interviewees include experts, diplomats, officials and members of the military from the US, the former Soviet Union and Europe.

Carrying out the IMF reforms, which include audits of Lebanon’s long secretive central bank and other banks, would not just force the elites to bear much of the cost of repairing the financial meltdown. It would also threaten the networks of corruption, patronage and waste that allowed them to milk the system for years, experts say.
“I would have never thought that these people, despite the size of the catastrophe, would still act with so much cold blood and irresponsibility,” said Alain Bifani, a former Finance Ministry director general and an architect of the recovery plan, speaking to The Associated Press about the elite’s refusal to implement it.

Spionagesoftware Makers en verkopers van spionagesoftware in Europa proberen doorlopend exportbeperkingen te omzeilen, blijkt uit internationaal onderzoek van onder meer NRC. Over spionagebusjes, afluisteren met drones en Nederland als schakel. ‘Ik dacht dat overheden het zouden gebruiken bij de jacht op pedofielen’.
Begin 2016 bellen twee Israëliërs aan bij een statig pand aan de Haagse Mauritskade. De eerste heet Avraham Rubinstein (51) en is ondernemer in de online spionagewereld. Zijn metgezel Rotem Farkash (29) is een hacker. Ze kennen elkaar uit het Israëlische leger.

Zelfs van het lezen van deze reeks wordt ik al moedeloos. Het denken in "gestolen land", "land van voorouders" etc gaat echt nergens over. Immers: wat is het startpunt van dat denken? En voor iedereen die dan een startpunt kiest (2000 v Chr.? Jaar 0? 1100?): pak dan even de wereldkaart van toen er bij en vraag je af of je ook voor andere regio's vindt dat de kaart weer moet zijn zoals toen.
Ja dit is echt een gigantische escalatie als je de eerste verhalen mag geloven. Honderden infiltranten zouden met paragliders en parachuten Israel zijn binnen gedrongen.

Palestinian terrorists are now posting videos of slaughtering Israelis in bomb shelters.
They’re running wild in the streets, killing innocent Israelis in cars, and defacing the body of a dead Israeli soldier.
This is a dark day in Israel. And the beginning of the end for Palestinian terror groups as this escalation will not go unanswered.
