The band have had to put most of their activities - especially playing live - on hold for the past 18 months due to frontman Danny Estrin's cancer battle - which he's still dealing with.
The band made a brief comeback for a short set at the Rugby Sevens tournament at HBF Park in Perth in January, and have also been doing their Voyager Reacts video series on their YouTube channel for a second year, analysing the competitors in this year's contest in Basel.
But on Monday night came an exciting sudden announcement - the band will perform two exclusive shows in their hometown of Perth: Voyager By Day in late June and Voyager By Night in early July.
The first show is an all-ages, afternoon 'matinee' show at the Rosemount Hotel on Saturday 21 June. Only 200 tickets are available, and the event will feature an intimate performance from the band, cover songs, a meet-and-greet and a charity auction in support of cancer research. Gig goers (regardless of their age) are invited to dress up for "a sequin-studded celebration".
The second show will be a full Voyager live performance at Magnet House on Friday 4 July which is an 18+ show. It's set to be one hell of a performance as the band play their first full live show in about two years and "celebrate survival, music, and everything that brought us here."
Tickets for both shows will go on sale this Wednesday, 16 April at 10am AWST (12pm AEST) via http://oztix.com.au/

Nieuwe single Seen Better Days komt 25 april uit
Danny op instagramquote:In September 2023, just as things were ramping up after Eurovision, I was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer that had spread so far around my body that chemotherapy, radiation and surgery were necessary.
Everything had been in the right place for Voyager. We were just about to commence a massive European tour, I was doing TV appearances and offers were coming in left, right and centre... but the cliff was nigh and we had to cancel it all and get used to a new normal; a normal of constant nausea, lesions on my vocal cords and loss of ability to sing, neuropathy in my fingertips which meant I couldn't play piano and a litany of other side effects too numerous and awful to list here..
After surgery, I managed to find hope between the fortnightly infusions of (very effective) poison and enjoy my life to the fullest.
I managed to maintain a semblance of normality to the outside world, to a world which wished me well, sent me gifts and prayed for me.
There's no remission for my cancer, which is a particularly nasty mutation. Late last year it spread even further because chemo stopped working... and so it's a matter of prolonging time and beating the odds with the wonders of modern medicine.... at the moment, a new therapy seems to be keeping it at bay (well, until we see at the next 3 monthly scan). You learn to live life differently, more fully if you can...
And here we are, in April 2025, surgery, 11 rounds of radiation and 33 rounds of chemo and counting.. BUT we have a new song.. can you believe it? I honestly did not think I would sing or play piano again and I cannot express how incredibly proud I am of this piece of music, crafted together with my beautiful, patient, incredible bandmates.
Since release, you have embraced this piece of music, both as a testament of my frequent struggle to maintain normality and as a way to relate it to your own rollercoasters of life. People have reached out from all around the world, saying they too feel the song speaks to their emotional peaks and troughs, their ailments or the suffering of a dear friend of family member. Many of us have seen better days, but it makes the good days between the bad so much more beautiful

quote:Against the odds, Voyager will return to the stage this European summer to share a unique live experience that goes beyond a traditional concert - blending performance and storytelling.
Following an extraordinary and challenging period for the band, including frontman Danny Estrin’s two-year battle with terminal cancer, we’ve decided to make every show count and to bring to life the full spectrum of what Voyager truly embodies.
Danny says “Every show I get to play with Voyager from now on is so special- to be able to do something so intimate and interactive as these two concerts is not only a celebration of music, but also a beautiful opportunity to share stories, laughs and tears with our amazing fans”
