Dan heb je niet zo goed gekeken, er waren wel rake klappen. Als het bij de heavyweights naar ronde 4 en 5 gaat dan zijn ze vaak door hun massa des te vermoeider. Plus de blessure waar Ngannou mee zat en dus voorzichtig was. Bloed was er wel bij eerdere partijen op de avond. Denk overigens dat hij Main Card bedoelde en niet Main Event.

PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS LEAGUE REACHES MULTI-YEAR RENEWAL WITH ESPN FOR EXPANDED MEDIA RIGHTS

The agreement begins with the telecast of the 2022 PFL Regular Season kickoff event on April 20, with specific details on scheduling and programming to be announced in the coming weeks.
“After two successful years of providing fans with premium MMA content alongside ESPN, PFL is proud to extend and expand our agreement,” said PFL CEO Peter Murray. “As MMA continues to evolve as a sport and rights property, our differentiated product and unique approach will help shape its path forward and in 2022 fans can expect more events, matchups between the world’s best fighters and innovative content than ever before.”
Matt Kenny, ESPN Vice President of Programming and Acquisitions, said: “As the home of combat sports, ESPN looks forward to continuing to deliver exciting, live PFL events and powerful storytelling to fans, across all platforms.”
ESPN was the home of PFL in the United States during its breakthrough 2021 season, including all 10 events from the regular season through the playoffs and final in October. MMA’s biggest night, the PFL World championship saw six fighters earn world championships and $6 million in prize money, which also featured a live performance from global icon and PFL partner Wiz Khalifa inside the SmartCage at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
In addition to live events, ESPN+ exclusively aired Claressa Shields, a four-part, all-access series that chronicled the two-time Olympic gold medalist’s PFL debut in June and quest to become an MMA world champion.

Was niet de meest spectaculaire partij, maar toen iedereen dacht dat het Gane het de laatste ronden af zou gaan maken omdat Francis zijn tank leeg begon te raken keerde Francis het tij met een paar goede takedowns en ground control. Dat hadden er niet veel verwacht denk ik en ik vond het mooi om te zien.quote:

White addressed the postfight situation in a fan Q&A on Wednesday night with interviewer Laura Sanko on ESPN+.
Many speculated that White did not do those things because Ngannou and the UFC are embroiled in messy contract negotiations. On Wednesday, White said that was not the case, explaining that he had something to deal with backstage and was not able to make it back to the Octagon in time. White did not go into detail about what he had to do that prevented him from returning for the main event.
"For anybody that thinks I was showing any kind of disrespect towards Francis -- I saw Francis all week, you idiots," White told Sanko. "I shook his hand, I said hi to him. I was out there for the staredowns, the whole thing."
"I don't think anybody expected Francis to come in and wrestle," White said. "Brilliant game plan by Francis to do what he did the way that he did it."
White said in the interview with Sanko that he'd like to have Ngannou defend against all-time great Jon Jones next. White called it a "big fight," adding "if it's possible to get it done."
