Following a registration procedure for UCI professional teams especially adapted this year to take into account the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) today makes public the names of teams that are either registered or that have invitations for the 2021 season. Moreover, the UCI is pleased to announce the award of a new UCI Women’s WorldTour licence.

UCI Women’s WorldTeams (1st division)

In accordance with the UCI Regulations (art. 2.13.026 ff), and after a complete review of the files received regarding all the criteria for attribution (ethical, financial and administrative), the Licence Commission has decided to award a UCI Women's WorldTour licence for the period 2021 - 2023, subject to compliance with the provisions for annual registration during the period, to the following team [team name (UCI code - nationality)]:

- TEAM SD WORX (SDW – NED).

According to article 2.13.056 of the UCI Regulations, this team will be registered as a UCI Women’s WorldTeam for the 2021 season.

Moreover, the UCI has decided (art 2.13.095) to register the UCI Women’s WorldTeams listed below – already holders of a UCI Women’s WorldTour licence for the 2020-2023 period and whose files are judged by the UCI to be in in order – for the 2021 season [team name (UCI code - nationality)]:

- ALE' BTC LJUBLJANA (ALE – ITA)

- CANYON//SRAM RACING (CSR – GER)

- FDJ NOUVELLE-AQUITAINE FUTUROSCOPE (FDJ – FRA)

- LIV RACING (LIV – NED)

- TREK – SEGAFREDO (TFS – USA).

Finally, after hearing teams that had not been able to be registered directly by the UCI, the Licence Commission has decided to register the following UCI Women’s WorldTeams for the upcoming season:

- MOVISTAR TEAM WOMEN (MOV – ESP)

- GREENEDGE CYCLING (GEC – AUS)

- TEAM DSM (DSM – GER).

The UCI is delighted by the arrival of a ninth UCI Women’s WorldTeam in addition to the eight existing ones, despite the difficult international health and economic situation. The maximum number of new licences that it will be possible to award during the 2022 registration procedure will be six.

UCI WorldTeams (1st division)

In accordance with the UCI Regulations and following a full review of the documentation received regarding different criteria for attribution (ethical, financial, administrative and organisational), the UCI has decided (art. 2.15.070) to register the following UCI WorldTeams for the 2021 season [team name (UCI code - nationality)]:

- AG2R CITROEN TEAM (ACT – FRA)

- BORA – HANSGROHE (BOH – GER)

- COFIDIS (COF – FRA)

- DECEUNINCK – QUICK-STEP (DQT – BEL)

- GROUPAMA – FDJ (GFC – FRA)

- INEOS GRENADIERS (IGD – GBR)

- JUMBO-VISMA (TJV – NED)

- LOTTO SOUDAL (LTS – BEL)

- MOVISTAR TEAM (MOV – ESP)

- TREK – SEGAFREDO (TFS – USA)

- UAE TEAM EMIRATES (UAD – UAE).

Moreover, after hearing teams that had not been able to be registered directly by the UCI, the Licence Commission has decided (art. 2.15.071) to register the following UCI WorldTeams [team name (UCI code - nationality)]:

- ASTANA – PREMIER TECH (AST – KAZ)

- BAHRAIN VICTORIOUS (TBV – BRN)

- GREENEDGE CYCLING (GEC – AUS)

- INTERMARCHÉ – WANTY – GOBERT MATÉRIAUX (IWG – BEL)

- ISRAEL START-UP NATION (ISN – ISR)

- TEAM DSM (DSM – GER)

- EF EDUCATION – NIPPO (EFN – USA)

- TEAM QHUBEKA ASSOS (TQA – RSA).

UCI ProTeams (2nd division)

In accordance with the UCI Regulations and following a full review of the different criteria for attribution (ethical, financial and administrative), the UCI has decided (art. 2.16.016) to register the following UCI ProTeams, for the 2021 season [team name (UCI code - nationality)]:

- ALPECIN-FENIX (AFC – BEL)

- ANDRONI GIOCATTOLI – SIDERMEC (ANS – ITA)

- BARDIANI CSF FAIZANE’ (BCF – ITA)

- BINGOAL WB (BWB – BEL)

- BURGOS-BH (BBH – ESP)

- CAJA RURAL-SEGUROS RGA (CJR – ESP)

- EOLO-KOMETA CYCLING TEAM (EOK – ITA) – new UCI ProTeam

- EQUIPO KERN PHARMA (EKP – ESP) – new UCI ProTeam

- EUSKALTEL – EUSKADI (EUS – ESP)

- GAZPROM-RUSVELO (GAZ – RUS)

- RALLY CYCLING (RLY – USA)

Moreover, after hearing teams that had not been able to be registered directly by the UCI, the Licence Commission has decided (art. 2.16.017) to register the following UCI ProTeams [team name (UCI code - nationality)]:

- B&B HOTELS P/B KTM (BBK – FRA)

- DELKO (DKO – FRA)

- TEAM ARKEA – SAMSIC (ARK – FRA).

The registration procedure of UCI Women’s WorldTeams, UCI WorldTeams and UCI ProTeams for the next season has now been completed. In total, 9 UCI Women’s WorldTeams, 19 UCI WorldTeams and 19 UCI ProTeams are registered for the 2021 season.

The UCI welcomes these figures which bear witness to the concerted efforts made by teams and riders in this period to keep professional cycling at the highest level despite the difficult circumstances, economic in particular. The UCI thanks all implicated stakeholders.

N.B.: for administrative reasons linked to the registration procedure, some information is not currently available on the UCI website. The UCI is working with the teams to complete the information as quickly as possible. We invite you to regularly consult the UCI website.

Obligatory invitations (art. 2.1.007bis)

As the top-ranked UCI ProTeam featuring in the 2020 UCI World Ranking for teams, the following UCI ProTeam [team name (UCI code - nationality)] is invited to all the UCI WorldTour events in 2021:

- ALPECIN – FENIX (AFC – BEL)

As the second-ranked UCI ProTeam in the 2020 UCI World Ranking for teams, the following UCI ProTeam [team name (UCI code - nationality)] is invited to the UCI WorldTour one-day races in 2021:

- TEAM ARKEA – SAMSIC (ARK – FRA).

The list of UCI Women’s Continental Teams that will benefit from obligatory invitations to events in the UCI Women’s WorldTour in 2021 will be communicated in January, after the registration procedure for UCI Women’s Continental Teams.
