At the weigh-ins on June 12, both Jessica Eye and Karl Roberson missed weight for their respective bouts. Eye weighed in at 126.25 pounds, a quarter pound over the non-title flyweight limit. Roberson weighted in at 190.5 pounds, 4.5 pounds over the non-title middleweight limit. Both of their bouts proceeded as a catchweight bout and both fighters were fined 20% of their purses.

According to a post on his Facebook page during the event’s official weigh-ins, Darrick Minner announced he will be no longer competing against Jordan Griffin after falling ill during his weight cut.
“Sad to say but tomorrow I won’t be fighting,” Minner’s post reads. “Long story short, the weight cut was going super smooth, everything on point. Came back to nap before I hit the last 5 lbs. Woke up after a two hour nap, started throwing up and didn’t stop for 6-7 hours. Still throwing up this morning but it has slowed down.
“The UFC performance institute nutrition and staff tried everything to get my stomach under control before they had to make the call to start rehydrating. Shout out to them, they are super knowledgeable and professional.
“I want to apologize to my opponent Jordan Griffin and his camp, stepped up to give us a fight. We will get this set up at a later date. Thanks to the UFC for giving me another opportunity, we will get back to work and be ready for the next one. Sorry my body couldn’t make this happen.”
The UFC confirmed in a statement that the fight card will move forward with 10 fights on Saturday night at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
The 30-year-old Minner has competed in 35 professional fights and stated in his announcement that until Friday morning, he had never pulled out of a fight in his career. the Nebraska native made his promotional debut at February’s UFC Norfolk event on short notice and was submitted in the second round by Grant Dawson.
Griffin successfully made weight during the official weigh-ins, coming in at 146 pounds. “Native Psycho” also competed at UFC Norfolk with his back against the wall following back-to-back losses to Dan Ige and Chas Skelly, picking up an impressive second-round submission win over TJ Brown.

30% is dan weer beetje weinig voor 4.5 pond erover. Zijn het eigenlijk standaardpercentages die ze hanteren voor bepaalde marges teveel of is het onderhandelen waar de tegenstander genoegen mee neemt?
