Petrov kwam de F1 in na een tweede plaats in de GP2 bij het team Barwa Addax, dat het Campos team in 2009 overnam en tot 2013 in de GP2 zou rijden. Er waren meer coureurs die na bij dat team te hebben gereden uiteindelijk de F1 in stroomden. Noem er drie.

Harrie reed er in 2013, en ook toen het weer Campos werd in 2014. We kunnen kort zijn over hoeveel succes hij had. Pic was teamgenoot van van der Garde in 2011 en deed het na een moeilijk begin uiteindelijk beter dan Giedo waarna er meteen promotie in de F1 kwam. Petrov had Grosjean als zijn teamgenoot in de eerste helft van 2009. Romain kon redelijk mee met kampioen Hulkenberg, maar mocht uiteindelijk Piquet vervangen bij Renault. Waar hij bijna zijn carrière vergooide, maar dat terzijde.
