De 62-jarige Canadees, die zich tientallen jaren inzette voor arme straatkinderen in Afrika en Azië, werd vorige maand al schuldig bevonden aan seksueel misbruik van minderjarigen.

Dalglish werd in april vorig jaar gearresteerd in zijn huis in Nepal, na tips over misbruik door hem. Toen hij werd opgepakt, waren er twee minderjarige jongens van 12 en 14 op zijn kamer.

De rechter oordeelt nu dat hij negen jaar cel krijgt voor het misbruik van de 12-jarige jongen en zeven jaar cel voor de jongen van 14. De twee zaken zijn samengevoegd, waardoor hij negen jaar krijgt. Ook moet hij beide slachtoffers een schadevergoeding van 500.000 Nepalese roepies betalen, omgerekend ruim 4000 euro.

Zelf heeft Dalglish de misbruikbeschuldigingen altijd van de hand gewezen. Hij zegt dat de politie hem valselijk heeft beschuldigd. Toen hij vorige maand schuldig werd bevonden, kondigden zijn advocaten al aan dat ze in hoger beroep gaan.

A second member of the Harvey Weinstein prosecution team quit the Manhattan DA’s Office last month amid controversy over whether the lead investigator — or lead prosecutor — covered up damaging evidence against an accuser, The Post has learned.

Veteran prosecutor Jennifer Gaffney, deputy chief of the Sex Crimes Unit, was thrown a going-away party on Sept. 20, sources said Monday.

Her party took place just one day before ADA Rachel Hochhauser, who was “second chair” on the Weinstein trial team, also departed the DA’s Office for a job at a private investigations and security firm.

It was unclear whether Gaffney — whose husband, Christopher Schmidt is an NYPD lieutenant — quit to start a new job.

Gaffney, 45, declined comment outside her home Monday.

According to news releases issued by Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance Jr. over the summer, Gaffney and Hochauser comprised half of the four-member team prosecuting Weinstein, the disgraced co-founder of a movie empire with his brother Bob.

Both Gaffney and Hochhauser left the DA’s Office around the time lead prosecutor Joan Illuzzi-Orbon wrote a Sept. 12 letter to the defense alleging that NYPD Det. Nicholas DiGaudio had admitted withholding information from a witness he interviewed in February.

According to Illuzzi-Orbon’s letter, the unidentified woman told prosecutors that Lucia Evans — who has accused Weinstein of forcing himself on her in 2014 — confided that she performed oral sex on Weinstein after he offered to get her an acting job, the letter says.

DiGaudio claims he informed Illuzzi-Orbon about the Evans snafu and that a fellow cop was present at the time, said law enforcement sources.

Last week, prosecutors dropped the Evans third of the case, leaving intact allegations that he raped another woman and sexually assaulted a a third.

Weinstein lawyer Benjamin Brafman said he would now seek to have the entire case thrown out based on the allegations against DiGaudio.

Vance spokesman Danny Frost said Gaffney’s resignation — which she submitted July 27, effective Sept. 7 — had nothing to do with the Weinstein case.

Hochhauser and Gaffney were both replaced by ADA Brendan Tracy of the Sex Crimes Unit, Frost said.

The now-shuttered English-language site, called "Welcome to Video," contained more than 200,000 unique videos or almost 8 terabytes of data showing sex acts involving children, toddlers and infants, according to the 18-page criminal indictment unsealed here Wednesday, and processed 7,300 Bitcoin transactions worth more than $730,000.

According to prosecutors, the vast online store was run by Jong Woo Son, a South Korean citizen currently serving an 18-month prison sentence in his home country after his conviction on charges related to child pornography. The site operated from June 2015 until it was seized and shut down by U.S. authorities in March 2018.

At a press conference Wednesday morning, U.S. officials said 337 suspected users of the site had been arrested worldwide to date.

"You may try to hide behind technology," U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jessie Liu said, " but we will find you and arrest you and prosecute you.

Almost half of the videos seized were not previously known to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Deputy Assistant Attorney General Richard Downing said. "There are many children depicted in these videos that have not been identified."

"The scale of this crime is eye-popping and sickening," John D. Fort, chief of IRS criminal investigations, said.

The site allegedly rewarded its members with "points" in relation to the amount of illegal material they uploaded, authorities announced Wednesday.

One user of the site, a former federal U.S. law enforcement agent, even downloaded more than 50 hours worth of videos.

Son was indicted on federal child porn charges in August 2018, which remained sealed until Wednesday.

In addition to Son, more than 300 other suspects have been arrested in South Korea as of Wednesday, while still more suspects were identified in other countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States, including a Washington, D.C., man who was caught with the equivalent of 50 years worth of video footage he had downloaded.
