Acteur John Wijdenbosch is maandagochtend samen met zijn vrouw en kind om het leven gekomen bij een auto-ongeluk. Wijdenbosch (44) was vooral bekend van zijn rol in de film en televisieserie Costa!.
De politie berichtte eerder op maandag over het fatale ongeluk. Op dat moment was nog niet duidelijk om wie het ging. Even voor 09.00 uur maakte een voorbijganger bij de politie melding van een auto die langs de A6 tussen Lelystad en Almere in het water lag. Hulpdiensten die ter plaatse kwamen haalden drie personen uit het voertuig. Zij konden niet meer worden gereanimeerd.
Het is nog onduidelijk hoe het ongeluk heeft kunnen plaatsvinden.
Carrière
De in Paramaribo geboren Wijdenbosch speelde rollen in onder meer de televisieseries Fort Alpha (1996), Bradaz(2001) - Wijdenbosch was één van de bedenkers - en Shouf Shouf! (2009). Zijn bekendste rol was die als Björn Borgers in de populaire tv-serie Costa! (2001-2005), waarin ook acteurs als Georgina Verbaan, Daan Schuurmans en Katja Schuurman speelden.
Wijdenbosch speelde tevens de hoofdrol in de roadmovie Monte Carlo uit 2001. De film won een award op het Nederlands filmfestival.
