Het Duitse attractiepark Europa-Park is getroffen door een gigantische brand. Het vuur brak uit bij de attractie Piraten in Batavia in het Nederlandse themagebied, meldt een woordvoerder op Twitter. Op social media verschenen beelden van de vuurzee en een enorme rookpluim, die vanuit het hele park te zien is.
Via de officiële Europa-Park-app worden bezoekers opgeroepen om het naastgelegen Scandinavische themadeel zo snel mogelijk te verlaten en te mijden. De brandweer probeert het vuur momenteel onder controle te krijgen. Het is nog niet bekend of er slachtoffers zijn gevallen.
