Ik las een interview met oxbow en daarin gaat het onderandere over albums en het eerste album in vergelijk met later albums. Toen zag ik het volgende stukje.
Trouwens in het interview wordt één voor de hand liggende kandidaat gelijk genoemd

Ik vind dat Muse bijvoorbeeld vrijwel alleen maar goede albums maakt, maar dat hoeft niet iedereen te vinden.

Edit: Ik denk dat velen Radiohead ook wel een uitzondering op de regel vinden.

Queen werd vanaf hun 8e plaat (The Game) een stuk commercieler. Op Jazz stonden nog dingen als Mustapha, Bicycle Race etc - dat soort 'quirky' dingen kwamen daarna eigenlijk niet meer aan bod.
Nee.
De Zweedse progressieve metalband Opeth heeft eigenlijk nog nooit een slecht album afgeleverd.
Met My Arms, Your Hearse, Still Life, Blackwater Park, Deliverance, Damnation, Ghost Reveries en Watershed hebben ze 7 top albums achtereenvolgens uitgebracht (laagste gemiddelde cijfer op MusicMeter is een 3,97 uit 5). Daarna hebben ze hun stijl wel flink veranderd, maar de albums zijn nog steeds van prima kwaliteit.

Het is ook wel leuk om te kijken wat die bandjes gedaan hebben je ziet er dus een aantal die in gewoon in een erg korte tijd 7 albums uitbrengen, anderen doen 7 keer hetzelfde erg goed maar er zijn er ook heel wat die toch stijlwisselingen hebben. Ik vind het wel boeiende zoals in de OP aangegeven is, zit er een soort van volwassen worden in de platen of valt het wel mee.
