Programme benefiting out-of-school, unemployed, and youth who dropped out of the
workforce.

• allocation of funds as provided for in the Code;
• acquisition and development of suitable lands as relocation sites;
• invoking the power of eminent domain to acquire and develop idle lands suitable for housing;
• continuing to address the shelter needs of qualified beneficiaries especially those who cannot
afford to access formal housing programmes;
• strengthened partnerships with the local private sector and other interested parties in the
endeavour; and
• development of areas for expansion within existing relocation sites.

The city government recognizes that to ensure a continuation of fast-paced development for the city,
the existing network of roads and bridges have to be upgraded to cope with increased passenger and
vehicular traffic. The time to address this situation is ahead of the actual need arising.

alternative roads for traffic in and out of major commercial and business areas and relieving

o water systems development to ensure adequacy of supply, especially in rural areas beyond the
service areas of Davao City Water District.

cooperative and entrepreneurial undertakings of the basic agriculture sector associations and
groups.

o Full development of idle and underutilized lands (and not just conversion of lands) for
agricultural purpose by mobilizing concerned institutions in addressing problems of access to
capital and essential inputs, outdated farming tools, non-dissemination of appropriate
technology, and inadequate post-harvest facilities.
o Pursuit of a sustainable inland fishery and mariculture programmes to provide adequate
income to the city's fisherfolk.
o Providing support to livestock and poultry sector producers in the area of animal disease
prevention to enhance sector productivity as well as the safety of people and consumers from
the dangers of potentially fatal diseases.

tourist destinations.
o Physical and social infrastructure support in existing and new investment and tourism sites are
being prioritized.
o A comprehensive investment and tourism promotion programme is to be formulated in
partnership with the private sector and national government agencies.

Zijn dochter Inday Sara Duterte is nu de burgemeester van Davao. Zet zijn beleid voort.

Toen hij nog stevig de scepter zwaaide in 2010, niet gek he van de gevaarlijkste stad van de Filipijnen naar de stad met de hoogste literacy rates van de Filipijnen. Waar iedereen Engels praat. Maar het is veel makkelijker om vanuit het veilige Westen lekker te kankeren op iemand die daadwerkelijk om zijn volk geeft. Onder zijn beleid werd er ook aan een hightech verkeersveiligheidssysteem gewerkt en een overstromingswaarschuwingssysteem, waar ik zelf e.e.a. aan heb bijgedragen.
