Ik was vanavond even wat aan het tekenen en ik kan net als de 2 Fokkers boven mij ook erg genieten van Mark Knopfler..
Dit concert luister ik regelmatig..

Potverdomme, dat ik dit album van hem uit 1983 niet eerder in mijn muziekcollectie had gehad!
ALLAN HOLDSWORTH Road Games
Deze wil ik toch na ruim 33 jaar toch maar eens toegevoegd hebben aan mijn CD collectie.
Het verhaal achter dit album is dat Eddie van Halen flink heeft zitten lobbyen bij Warner om Holdsworth daar een plaat te laten opnemen. Warner wilde wel maar dan moest er wel een producer aan te pas komen. AH was daar niet zo happig op maar ging door de bocht. Van Halen producer Ted Templeman kwam vervolgens in beeld en er werd begonnen aan de opnames. AH kwam daar zwaar gefrusteerd uit (lag ook misschien wel een beetje aan hemzelf want hij is niet echt makkelijk in de omgang) en de boel lag op z'n gat. Uiteindelijk besloot Warner maar om datgene wat er lag op LP uit te brengen.
Eerlijk gezegd vind ik dit misschien wel een van de leukste Holdsworth albums omdat hij hier zijn composities zo mooi to-the-point houd.
