Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm (commonly known as the "Clean Break" report) is a policy document that was prepared in 1996 by a study group led by Richard Perle for Benjamin Netanyahu, the then Prime Minister of Israel. It has since been criticized for advocating an aggressive new policy including the removal of Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq and the containment of Syria by engaging in proxy warfare and highlighting its possession of "weapons of mass destruction". The polices set forth in the paper were rejected by Netanyahu.
Professors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt wrote in their controversial and critical "The Israel Lobby" article of March 2006, published in the London Review of Books that the Clean Break paper:
called for Israel to take steps to reorder the entire Middle East. Netanyahu did not follow their advice, but Feith, Perle and Wurmser were soon urging the Bush administration to pursue those same goals. The Ha'aretz columnist Akiva Eldar warned that Feith and Perle "are walking a fine line between their loyalty to American governments ... and Israeli interests".

Zeker 75 door de Verenigde Staten en bondgenoten getrainde Syrische rebellen zijn vrijdag vanuit Turkije de grens met Noord-Syrië overgestoken.
De rebellen zijn volgens het Syrische Observatorium voor Mensenrechten het land binnengetrokken met twaalf zwaarbewapende trucks.
De rebellen behoren tot Divisie 30, een groep strijders die getraind wordt om te vechten tegen Islamitische Staat (IS). Amerika begon in mei met het programma, met als doel jaarlijks ruim 5000 Syriërs klaar te stomen voor de strijd tegen IS.
Washington heeft echter grote moeite om voldoende rekruten te vinden. Onlangs meldde Washington nog dat slechts vier of vijf getrainde Syrische rebellen actief waren in Syrië.

Israel destabiliseert het liefst de hele regio zodat zij zelf uit de picture blijven en de Saoedi's haten sji'ieten en andersgelovigen. En laten hun knecht de VS de hete aardappels uit het vuur halen.
