Bij toeval kwam ik een nummer tegen dat denk ik veel mensen wel kennen en waarderen, maar dat toch al vrij oud is en meer dan genoeg de moeite waard om weer eens genoemd te worden:

Dit nummer is ook eens door tears for fears uitgebracht, maar van Gary Jules is-ie vele malen mooier en gevoeliger!

Het is een mooi en rustig nummer, doet een beetje depri aan, is het ook wel als je naar de tekst kijkt, maar het is zeker zo'n nummer waar je echt helemaal in op kunt gaan.

Tarakihi van Kiri te Kanawa. Een Maorinummer, lekker vrolijk! Begeleid door van die handtrommeltjes waarvan ik altijd vergeet hoe ze heten en violen zo te horen. Maar kijk uit, als het je ligt blijft het dagen in je hoofd zitten. (bodycombatters onder ons kennen het: het is de coolingdown van de afgelopen combat!)

Nog een tip:
Miserere van Paul Schwartz and the joyfull companie of singers.
Een klassiek nummer dat opnieuw gemaakt is (lijkt amper meer op het origineel) met synthersizers en een fantastisch koor. Mooie dromerige muziek waarin je lekker kunt verdrinken. Bijzonder krachtig is het ook!

Ook klassiek-achtig/new age-ig: Pavane opus 50 van Joolz Gianni.

En een nummer dat ik niet echt kan omschrijven (het is te hard voor new age, klassiek is het zeker niet. Wel vrijwel instrumentaal (slechts een klein beetje zang), het heeft een bijzonder ritme en sja, het is gewoon lekker):
Floatation van the Grid.

Light Flight van Pentangle is ook super..

ik heb laatst de film Freaky Friday gezien en daar werd dus zo'n oud nummer gecovered...mooi nr.
Het ging om 'The Turtles - Happy Together'.
Andere oude nummers die ik tegenkwam waren 'Pretty Woman' en '74-75' (alhoewel ik van die 2e niet zeker weet of ie écht oud is...)

Deze muziek is niet echt de muziek waar ik normaal naar luister, maar die ouwe sjit is soms echt zo goed he ...weten jullie misschien nog een aantal van die oude nummers (voor 1980) die iedereen wel óóit gehoord moet hebben??
