Je kan een mok met Troy & Abed in the Morning bestellen en ik heb een setje onderzetters met de 8bitpoppetjes gekocht. Ik zag ook een kopie van het script van de pilot voorbij komen, met handtekeningen van de acteurs.

Zijn meer particuliere verkopers meestal, dus het is niks officieels.

Community and Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon has revealed that a much-discussed Community movie is in active progress.

Since the sitcom, which focused on a group of community college students who form a study group, ended in 2015, plenty of rumours have swirled that a follow-up movie could be on the way.

Speaking on Vulture's Good One podcast, Harmon has now confirmed that he is working on a script for the film.

"I started writing to keep my parents from hitting me, and I now only write to feel valid," he said. "But the upside of that is I am, at least once a week, thinking about it – the gears are turning. There is, like... a thing is happening.

"Logistically, the locks are coming away. And the only problems are becoming the creative ones, which is great, because I love those problems. I love having these conversations, and they're being had.”

But creating a movie from a much-loved TV show is never easy and Harmon admitted that he is struggling to decide how heavily the film should lean into "fan service".

"Here's the biggest philosophical question: Are you supposed to service a mythical new viewer? The obvious, dogmatic, practical, off-the-street answer is like, 'No, you don't. It's fan service. Why would there be a Community movie?'" he said.

"Formalistically, you owe a movie that, I think, the fans can not only enjoy, but they can stand back and go, 'You know, the crazy thing about this Community movie is that if you didn't know there was a show, this is an insanely good movie'."

He continued: "There's a reason to watch it and then definitely watch the series because now you're like, 'Holy crap'. I don't know if that's arrogance, pretentiousness, responsibility, self-deprecation, torture. I can't get myself out of that camp."

No matter what the Community movie ends up looking like plot-wise, we're just hoping to see the whole gang back together again.

t's still early days for the Community movie, so there's every possibility that a deal can be struck for Donald Glover's return. The announcement by Peacock follows Dan Harmon's recent reveal that a script was being shopped around studios and streamers, so the announcement just confirms the successful bidder. No director has been announced, nor has a release date been set in stone, which suggests that discussions are still taking place elsewhere to bring back other members of the Community cast. If anything, the confirmation by Peacock may be more enticing for Glover, giving him a concrete project that he can sign on to.

Given how busy the actor is with his music career, Atlanta season 4, and the upcoming Mr. & Mrs. Smith show for Amazon, Glover's absence from the confirmed cast list could be a simple case of ironing out his availability. Donald Glover has certainly appeared open to a return, stating his interest in a Community movie during an online table read to raise money for COVID-19 relief. Dan Harmon certainly appeared keen on Glover's pitch for a Star Trek III: The Search For Spock-style movie to find Troy, after he and LeVar Burton were apparently captured by pirates later in Community season 5.

Dan Harmon was probably keen on Glover's pitch at the 2020 table read because he'd originally suggested it during a Comic-Con panel to promote Community season 6. The search for Troy would make him a major part of the Community movie without Glover having to commit to a packed filming schedule. He would only need to commit to an extended cameo for the movie's climax, and some inserts as the study group embark on a road movie to rescue him from his pirate predicament. Whatever form it takes, Donald Glover's appearance must be an essential part of the Community movie.

Precies. Dat was wel een soort doodsteek voor de serie. Toen Pierce eruit ging vond ik ook wel een beetje een mini steekje voor de show tbh. Desalniettemin een van mijn favoriete series. Glover is nodig en dat weet de hele show zelf ook wel. Ze zullen vast diep in de buidel tasten of van alles proberen om Troy erin te krijgen.
