Dat is hoe meerdere mensen de 'logische conclusie' uitleggen.

Er is alweer allerlei extra militair materieel door de Russen aan de grens geplaatst, waaronder Mig 29 straaljagers, communicatie apparatuur, een colonnes met allerlei leger voertuigen.

Als Porosjenko de rebellen de oorlog verklaart, blijven de russische troepen dan afzijdig, of escaleert dit tot een Oekrainse onafhankelijkheidsoorlog? Of blijft Rusland afzijdig, maar voortdurend stoken in het conflict? Ik denk dat ze blijven stoken.

Separatisten bij de Oekra�ense basis</sub>

Pro-Russische separatisten hebben een legerbasis bij de opstandige stad Donetsk in Oost-Oekra�ne veroverd en de commandant gevangengenomen. Dat heeft een woordvoerder van het regeringsleger bevestigd.

De overige militairen zijn overgebracht naar een andere militaire basis. Aan de inname van de legerbasis ging een zeven uur durend vuurgevecht vooraf.

Schending
De strijd bij Donetsk betekent een nieuwe schending van het staakt-het-vuren dat de Oekra�ense president Porosjenko een week geleden afkondigde en dat later door de separatisten werd overgenomen. Vandaag loopt het bestand af.

De strijdende partijen in het oosten hebben elkaar de afgelopen week voortdurend beticht van schendingen. Zo vielen dinsdag acht doden toen de rebellen een militaire helikopter neerhaalden bij de stad Slavjansk.

Poetin
De Russische president Poetin heeft er bij Porosjenko op aangedrongen het bestand te verlengen om een vredesdialoog op gang te brengen.

Maar de Oekra�ense president lijkt hier weinig voor te voelen, zolang Rusland naar zijn zeggen de rebellen van wapens en steun blijft voorzien.

Toch is er sprake van een mogelijk vredesoverleg waaraan alle partijen en ook Rusland en de EU zouden meedoen. Gisteren werd gezegd dat dat gesprek vandaag plaatsvindt in Donetsk.

Porosjenko zet handtekening onder EU-deal, Rusland woedend

De Oekra�ense president Petro Porosjenko heeft vandaag in Brussel zijn handtekening gezet onder de EU-overeenkomst die vorig jaar tot een bloedige opstand leidde. Vanavond om 22.00 uur loopt het staakt-het-vuren tussen de pro-Russische separatisten en het regeringsleger af. Duizenden Oekra�ners zijn gisteren en vannacht op de vlucht geslagen uit angst voor een nieuwe opleving van het geweld.

Rusland heeft woedend gereageerd op de ondertekening van het associatieverdrag tussen De Europese Unie en Oekra�ne. Hoewel de beslissing het soevereine recht van Oekra�ne is, zal de stap volgens onderminister van Buitenlandse Zaken Grigori Karasin 'ernstige consequenties' hebben.

Volgens een woordvoerder van het Kremlin zal Rusland maatregelen nemen om zijn economie te beschermen als blijkt dat de verdragen die de EU vandaag sloot met Oekra�ne, Georgi� en Moldavi� economisch schadelijk zijn, meldt persbureau RIA Novosti.

Four Ukrainian servicemen killed in new fighting: military source

(Reuters) - Dmytro Tymchuk, who has good sources among government forces, said the rebels, backed by eight Russian tanks and firing mortar bombs, stormed a military base near Kramatorsk in one of several rebel attacks overnight.

"In return fire by government forces, one terrorist tank was destroyed and one tank captured," Tymchuk said on his Facebook page. "Four service personnel were killed, five wounded," he added.

In other fighting, Tymchuk said, rebels again attacked forces taking part in the government's "anti-terrorist operation" on a hill near the city of Slaviansk and one Ukrainian soldier was wounded by sniper fire.

Rebels also attacked a military base in the early hours at Artemivsk, using tank and other fire. Ukrainian forces repelled this attack without any casualties, he said.

Leader of self-proclaimed East-Ukrainian republics on buildup of their financial system

DONETSK, June 26. /ITAR-TASS/.
Oleg Tsaryov, the leader of the South-East public movement who was elected speaker of the legislature of the Union of People’s Republics (the union state of self-proclaimed unrecognized Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. — ITAR-TASS) believes that the priority task today is “to establish the union government as soon as possible”.

Tsaryov told ITAR-TASS:

Task number one is to establish the union government and to straighten out the economy and the financial system because the taxes continue flowing to Kiev, which is on the brink of bankruptcy and will unlikely be able to finance the pension plan.

Next round of consultations on south-east Ukraine crisis may be held June 27

On June 23, consultations were held in Donetsk between representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR).

Participating in the talks were
- Kuchma,
- the OSCE Secretary-General’s special representative Heidi Tagliavini,
- Ukrainian Choice leader Viktor Medvedchuk,
- DNR leader Alexander Borodai,
- South-East Movement leader Oleg Tsarev, and
- LNR officials.
- Russian Ambassador in Kiev Mikhail Zurabov attended the consultations as well.

However, Borodai said later that these were informal preliminary consultations but no talks were being considered:

1. Full-fledged negotiations as such can be possible only after Kiev has met seven conditions put forth by Oleg Tsarev, co-chair of the Novorossiya People’s Front. These conditions are our common position.

- amnesty for the militiamen and political prisoners.

The empire of overthrown President Viktor Yanukovych extended far beyond his billion-dollar Mezhyhirya estate.

He also kept residences in the Carpathians and Crimea as well as hunting estates. He had an impressive car collection and made his travel fast and comfortable with personal helicopters and a plane. He held lavish receptions with expensive champagne and other pricey treats.

All these luxuries were courtesy of Ukraine’s long-suffering taxpayers – specifically through the state Asset Management Department, known in Ukrainian as DUSya. During Yanukovych’s four-year presidency, the department was managed by Andriy Kravets, a reclusive operative nicknamed “Yanukovych’s caretaker.&rdquo;

Kuzmin is now wanted in Ukraine, while Tymoshenko's gas case is closed

An arrest warrant was issued on June 26 for Renat Kuzmin, one of Ukraine's most controversial prosecutors. He has been missing since the beginning of June, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.

Kuzmin served as the first deputy general prosecutor under disgraced ex-President Viktor Yanukovych, overthrown on Feb. 22 by the EuroMaidan Revolution.

Kuzmin played a major role in politically motivated criminal convictions of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko, who both served prison terms. Lutsenko spent two years in prison, while Tymoshenko served six months longer before being freed the day Yanukovych left power.

Kuzmin’s former boss, ex-Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka, has been on the wanted list since April 28 and has appeared on Russian TV alongside his friend and patron Yanukovych.

Kuzmin is suspected of organizing the illegal arrest of Lutsenko in 2010. He is also under investigation for bullying a judge into issuing a ruling to send Lutsenko to prison.
