Yup, it’s coming back!
NBC has renewed Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for a 16th season.
Why? Because ratings for this current season ain’t too shabby: It’s been averaging a 2.5 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 8.4 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen. That’s an increase versus last year of 19% in adults 18-49 (2.5 vs. 2.1) and 16% or 1.2 million persons in total viewers (8.4 million vs. 7.2 million).
NBC made the announcement in preparation for its upfront presentation Monday in New York. Stay tuned for more pickups (or cancellations).

Fox has canceled three freshman comedies, including the most critically bashed sitcom of the season.
The network confirms that Seth MacFarlane’s Dads is dead. This is actually a bit surprising. The industry tom-toms began to drum in recent weeks that the series starring Giovanni Ribisi and Seth Green was, against the odds, looking very likely for a renewal. Recently, however, the caustic comedy’s fortune suddenly reversed. The axing is win for the critics — Dads only averaged a score of 15 of of 100 on Metacritic.
In addition, Surviving Jack is canceled too — that’s definitely not a surprise. The single-camera sitcom based on best-selling author Justin Halpern’s autobiographical book, I Suck at Girls, is a coming-of-age story set in the 1990s featured Christopher Meloni as a dad trying to raise his teenage kids. The show struggled in the ratings on Thursday nights.
Lastly, cult-fav comedy Enlisted is dead. The Friday night freshman military comedy starring Geoff Stults and Chris Lowell was always a long shot for a renewal, but the feel-good series had plenty of fans and defenders who hoped it would get a second chance.
In the ratings, Dads averaged 4.2 million viewers and a 1.8 rating including DVR playback, Surviving Jack had 5 million and a 1.4 rating and Enlisted had 2.7 million and a 1.0 rating.
Fox is not commenting on whether Greg Kinnear legal drama series Rake is canceled, but nobody seems to expect the show to return for a second season either.
Earlier this year, Fox announced renewals for Tuesday comedies New Girl, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Mindy Project.
Also, for those tracking this stuff, Fox has passed on comedy pilots No Place Like Home, Fatrick and Dead Boss.
This is the first of what’s sure to be many cancellations over the next several days as broadcasters prepare fro their upfront presentation to advertisers. Last week, Fox pulled the plug on drama Almost Human.

Die worden gewoon nog uitgezonden, dit is altijd de periode van het jaar dat series horen of ze een nieuw seizoen mogen maken of dat het afgelopen voor ze is.quote:

Van de nieuwe comedy series blijft maar weinig over en wat renewed wordt is nou niet echt geweldig Mom en The Millers. Goldbergs heb ik niet veel van gezien. Friends with Better Lives zie ik het ook niet overleven, net als Bad Teacher.

Ik vond die wall wel interessant, maar ze hebben het gewoon zelf verpest door echt alleen maar met die cases te komen en verder amper ontwikkeling. NBC just placed the biggest possible roadblock on the road to six seasons and a movie: The network has canceled Community after five seasons.
In many ways, the news wasn’t surprising. The ambitious, form-tweaking, meta-comedy starring Joel McHale has long struggled in the ratings, and the 13-episode fifth season averaged 3.8 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the 18-to-49-year-old demographic, including DVR playback.
Still, fans had been holding out hope, as the critically admired cult comedy has been rejuvenated creatively by the return of creator Dan Harmon in season 5 (while absorbing the exit of one of its original cast members, Donald Glover, early in the season). And although the threat of cancellation loomed in previous seasons, the show had always managed to squeak out a renewal right before NBC presented its fall schedule at the advertiser upfronts. A final batch of episodes would have been a big one for Community‘s hyper-dedicated fans and cast, who have been pushing for the series to fulfill its destiny once uttered by Abed (Danny Pudi) and reach the milestone of six seasons and a movie. (Community also has fallen shy of another benchmark: 100 episodes, having aired 97 to date.)
There is, of course, the significant possibility that Community isn’t dead altogether. Sony Pictures TV, which produces Community, will now try to find another home for it on cable or a streaming service. The show has already been sold in syndication to Comedy Central, while Hulu owns the digital rights.
In regards to the NBC news, McHale just tweeted: “#darkesttimeline,” while Harmon’s first tweet on the matter is: “Twitter isn’t big enough to hold my condolences and more importantly my gratitude to the best fans, cast and crew in TV history. Excelsior.” Feel free to place your condolences and/or rally cries below.
Meanwhile, NBC has renewed freshman comedy About a Boy and canceled another one, Growing Up Fisher.

Van mij zijn Raising Hope, Drop Dead Diva en Community gecancelled. White Collar, Cougar Town, Californication, The Peep Show en True Blood ending. Allemaal prima, alleen jammer van Community.
Ik vind het alleen jammer dat Revenge renewed is. Ik kijk dit seizoen af en dan laat ik het voor wat het is.

Men at Work was één van de betere comedyseries nog op tv, jammer zeker als series als The Millers en Mom wel nieuwe seizoenen krijgen.

Precies. Ik heb de eerste 3 eps van Crisis gezien, nou was dat redelijk kut maar ik wilde het eventueel nog wel gaan afkijken. De rest van de eps staan sowieso al wel op de HD. Maar laat nu maar dan.
9 van de 10 keer kan je sowieso raden welke series het niet gaan halen.
Agents of Shield heb ik ook niet gekeken omdat er een vrij grote kans was dat die gecancelled zou worden. Nu er een 2e seizoen van komt, kan ik het gerust kijken.
