quote:I originally bought this because I moved into a new house and it turned out the house plans were all drawn up in metric, and this was the best metric HDMI cable I could find that could stretch from my reliable RCA TV (vintage 1990) to the space between my bathtub and my toilet (the Comcast guy was confused by my metric house, too. But that's another story).
Anywhooo, I bring the cable home and I realize that my TV doesn't support the supposedly "universal" HDMI format. Go figure. I really needed to upgrade my picture, however, and based on other reviews I read this was the answer. The solution I found was to buy a couple EAC-32 75-300 Ohm TV Antenna Twin Lead to Coaxial Female Signal Adapters EAC-32 75-300 Ohm TV Antenna Twin Lead to Coaxial Female Signal Adapter that I found on Amazon, cut those obsolete HDMI ends off my new cable, and splice these great new connectors.
Because of the perfect metric measurement of the cable (12 meters, or metres which is more correct) It also worked wonderfully as an indoor clothes line, pull up bar (when properly anchored by someone actually sitting on the toilet which this superb cable runs through), cat dangle toy dangling wire, and cable rest for my old (soon to be obsolete) Monster-brand stereo audio cables running from the kitchen to the attic (another funny metric story, but I digress).
Sure the kneeling to get under the cables to walk from the bedroom to the tv room was a slight nuisance at first, but now it feels a little like I am almost prostrating myself to worship the amazing signal that a mere 2 weeks salary was able to bring.
Finally, I should note as a side reference that this is the second such cable I purchased. The first survived for an eternal 6 months in a similar location before needing replacement. I decided to take the old one to a scrap yard and I got $5 bucks (!) for the scrap copper. Just goes to show the real quality materials that go into this cable.
