Het Motocross topic #2 Herlings _O_

Als Coldenhoff niet zoveel pech had gekend dit jaar dan had hij wel vaker op het podium kunnen staan.

Suzuki doet het prima in de MX1 met Strijbos en Desalle en ook in Amerika met Millsaps, Wharton en Jason Anderson dus waarom ook niet in de MX2? Lieber is vaak geblesseerd geweest maar Anstie is 10de geworden in het WK.

Ik denk dat Herlings de MoN wel zal rijden maar hij geeft zelf aan dat hij niet fit is, hij kan nog wat ritme opdoen in Lichtenvoorde over 2 weken.

Herlings wint ONK zonder te rijden

Coldenhoff had minstens 47 punten nodig in Lichtenvoorde om de ONK titel in de MX2 te pakken maar in de eerste manche werd hij vierde en daardoor werd Herlings voor de derde keer op rij Nederlands kampioen.

Husqvarna Factory Team’s Unveiled

Husqvarna is set to make waves in 2014 after revealing their all-new and improved motorcycle range at the annual ‘Milan Motorcycle Show’ (EICMA) in Milan, Italy, earlier this week. Along with the unveiling of their new Supermoto, Enduro and Motocross ready motorcycles, the factory also introduced their new MX2 and MXGP team’s and riders.

MXGP will welcome to the pits Red Bull Ice One Husqvarna Factory Racing, consisting of the former MX2 World Champion Tyla Rattray (South Africa) and MXGP new comer Todd Waters (Australia). The team will be managed by former FIM MX3 World Championship contender Antti Pyrhönen.

The little brother of Red Bull Ice One Husqvarna Factory Racing will be Red Bull Wilvo Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing, which is made up with two of the most promising young motocross talents in the world, Romain Febvre (France) and Aleksandr Tonkov (Russia). Both Febvre and Tonkov will be competing in MX2 under the watchful eye of ex Husqvarna factory rider and former 500cc motocross World Champion Jacky Martens.

On 31 January 2013 BMW Group announced that Pierer Industrie AG bought Husqvarna for an undisclosed amount. The company is headed by Stephan Pierer (CEO of KTM). Pierer Industrie AG is 51% owner of KTM and 100% owner of Husqvarna.

Ik ken alleen Liam Everts, zoon van Stefan maar die is nog geen 15 en heeft ook geen Rockstar als sponsor.

Dat vind ik dan weer niet veel aan, opzich leuk voor een avond maar het heeft weinig met de sport motocross te maken.

Ik vond dit wel vet, een rhythm sectie van 800 meter.

Dean Ferris niet naar de MX1 maar naar de Verenigde Staten

Het Bike It Yamaha Cosworth Team heeft vandaag een officiele verklaring gegeven over de ontbinding van het contract van Dean Ferris. Vorige week konden jullie al lezen dat Ferris naar Amerika zal vertrekken en voor Red Bull KTM USA uit zal komen in de MX2 klasse.

Dean Ferris and the British Bike it Yamaha Cosworth team will not enter the 2014 FIM Motocross World Championship together after deciding to dissolve their agreement this week. Steve Dixon, owner and manager of the English based squad that has been present in Grand Prix racing for over two decades, was moved to comment.

“Having been in Grand Prix for 24 years I have worked with a lot of riders and we have had a lot of success year-in year-out and to help people like Carl Nunn, Billy Mackenzie, Andrew McFarlane, Zach Osborne, Mel Pocock, Arnaud Tonus and Dean Ferris achieve notable Grand Prix results as well as develop the YZ250F to a high level.”

“Dean, who is now 23 years old, realised after his great starts and results at the Motocross of Nations that his 250 class career was really only just starting. Since the Nations Dean and I have talked over his future and through experience I have learnt it is never good to retain a rider whose heart is elsewhere, it would only affect team spirit and potentially all the sponsors and partners. I took a few weeks to think about it and I feel happy I have made the right decision to let Dean financially compensate the contract and follow his dream to supercross and the USA. It may be the only shot he gets so I did not want to stand in the way.”

“We are a strong and well established team that does not rely on one rider to get us through the season, we have a great record of picking riders and releasing their potential. Right now we have exciting times ahead with the development of the fantastic new 2014 YZ250F and getting Max Anstie to be a regular podium finisher. We also have a promising MX2 programme with two younger riders. The 2014 YZ450F Yamaha has been working really well through our testing so I am still tempted to enter the MXGP class!”

“It was hard at first for Dean to approach me as he did not want to let us or Yamaha down, he was grateful for such a good opportunity in 2013 to show what he was finally capable of. Lastly it is good that all of this has been carried out amicably and professionally and that both us and Dean both go into 2014 happy with our decision.”

Davi Millsaps is na een voetbreuk weer terug op de motor. Deze week stapte hij voor de vijfde keer op de motor en nam hiervan onboard beelden op. Het is altijd mooi om te zien hoe een toprijder over een supercross circuit gaat en dat is dit keer bij Millsaps niet anders!


Het team is trouwens overgestapt van Suzuki naar KTM.
