De Griekse politie is op zoek naar vijf verdachten die betrokken zouden zijn bij de moord op een Iraakse immigrant.
De jonge Irakees, wiens naam en leeftijd niet bekend zijn gemaakt, werd zondagochtend in het centrum van Athene door vijf personen aangevallen. Hij werd meerdere keren met een scherp voorwerp gestoken. Het slachtoffer werd zwaargewond naar een ziekenhuis gebracht, waar hij een paar uur later overleed.
Volgens de politie waren voor het incident al een Roemeen en een Marokkaan aangevallen, maar zij wisten te vluchten. Het is niet duidelijk of zij verwondingen hebben opgelopen.
Condoleances
De Griekse minister van Openbare Orde, Nikos Dendias, heeft zijn condoleances aan de familie van het slachtoffer overgebracht. Hij zei dat de staat hard tegen criminelen zal optreden, wat voor excuus ze ook voor hun daden hebben.
De extreemrechtse partij Gouden Dageraad behaalde bij de verkiezingen van mei en juni bijna zeven procent van de stemmen. Steeds meer gewelddadige groepen treden op als burgerwacht. Het aantal immigranten dat wordt aangevallen is de afgelopen tijd flink toegenomen.

Niet verwonderlijk. Veel (te veel imo) immigranten en een ingestorte economie, ligt voor de hand waar dat tot leidt.

Griekenland wword geteisterd door een golf van criminaliteit, voornamelijk veroorzaakt door immigranten uit vooral Roemenie, dan gaan partijen zoals dat Gouden Dageraad ineens explosief groeien, 1+1=2. Ik denk dat het nog wel erger gaat worden daar.

De partij wist bij de laatste verkiezingen zo'n zeven procent van de stemmen te trekken. Partijleden hebben zichzelf de rol van beschermheer aangemeten door voedsel te distribueren - maar alleen aan mensen met een Grieks identiteitsbewijs - en klusjes voor ouderen te doen.
De regering heeft geprobeerd om de toenemende invloed van Gouden Dageraad te keren door illegale immigratie stevig aan te pakken. Begin augustus werd er een operatie gelanceerd waarbij immigranten werden opgepakt en de grenscontroles werden opgevoerd.
Overal in europa zorgen bepaalde groepen voor een buitenproportioneel aandeel in de criminaliteit en dragen ze bij aan een minder fijne samenleving. Of het nu van vrouwen sexueel lastig vallen op straat is tot het mensen in elkaar meppen omdat ze in je zone komen.

Dat gevoel krijg ik een beetje bij de reactie op het artikel in de OP.

Omdat overheden veel meer macht en invloed kunnen uitoefenen in angstige maatschappijen. Ze zijn dus gebaat bij een bepaalde hoeveelheid criminaliteit en angst. Kijk maar naar de terrorisme wetgeving in Amerika en hoever die in gaat tegen de privacy. Toch schijnt niemand zich eraan te storen omdat bij de meeste mensen de angst voor een terroristische aanslag groter is. Extreem escaleren willen ze natuurlijk ook niet, want dan slaat de gehele meute op hol. Je wilt natuurlijk wel controle houden.

The rapist from Paros is in the prison for juvenile delinquents in Avlonas in Athens from today. He appeared before the prosecutor in Syros yesterday and made a confession. According to the defender from Mykonos, who took over his defence, he apologized to the victim's family and society and did not deny any of the offences listed in the indictment. He rebutted only the date of birth, which was written in the documents and stated that he was born in 1993 not in 1991.
He then described the offence with very cynical and shocking candour. "I turned the girl on her back and hit her with a large stone, about five kilograms in weight, over the left eye. I took her by the neck and tried to hide her in a cleft, but she resisted and cursed me. I was hitting her with the stone continuously... I saw her face bleeding and threw the stone into the sea. In the beginning, I decided to steal her mobile phone to sell it and send the money to my sick mother in Pakistan, who needs it. To be able to get close to her I pretended that I was speaking on the phone. Then I pressed her in order not to allow her to respond and took her phone. She was moving and I hit her several times on the body by hand. I took off her pants and bathing suit and raped her. I wiped myself with her clothes. I threw away her bathing suit and pants to prevent her from escaping quickly and seeking help. Then I tried to hide her in the cleft and began hitting her with a stone. I left her there and went to the restaurant where I worked. I threw the phone in the hotel waste." According to sources, the Pakistani said in the next part of his story that he had fulfilled his duties in the hotel and watered the gardens.
Data collected so far indicate that everything had happened within half an hour. As the mother of 15-year-old Myrto pointed out in her testimony, she and her two daughters had gone to a small beach near the Golden Coast beach in the early afternoon on 22 July. At about 6 pm, the girl had told her mother she would go to the rocks to go to the toilet and she came back quickly.
A little later, Myrto asked her mother is she could go back to the rocks of the Golden Coast beach to listen to some music from her mobile phone. She also told her mother to call her when they would leave the beach.
"I started ringing her mobile phone after half an hour, but it did not work. I set off to the rocks on foot and then by my car to search for her. I was ringing her phone all the time but it was not working. Then I went to the beach in Punda by car and took my other daughter to search for Myrto together. We went back to the Golden Coast beach and looked for her. At one point, I went to the other side of the beach to Poseidon hotel and then I thought I saw her on the opposite cliffs. Then we went there with my other daughter and found her."
The Pakistani described in his testimony how he had arrived in Greece. He said that he had arrived in 2010 and entered the country from Turkey. He had lived in the area of Oropos near Athens at first and then went to Paros, where he found a job in a hotel. His duties were "to water the grass" for 450 euro per month.
The rapist's story continues: "The previous day, on Saturday, with a friend from Pakistan we went to the fair in the village of Piso Livadi. We left from there at 4 am and I slept at my friend's apartment, which is located near a petrol station. We had to celebrate Ramadan on Sunday but we slept until very late. When we got up, we ate and watched TV. I decided in the afternoon to go back to the restaurant where I worked. I was dressed in white pants and a blue jersey. When I passed along the beach, I saw a woman swimming in the sea. Two men passed by at the same. I saw the 15-year-old girl on the rocks shortly thereafter."
The Pakistani had also said that after the attack he returned to his room in the basement of the hotel where he bathed and washed his clothes.
The testimony of one of the waiters in the restaurant was particularly important for the investigation. "I had just come back from the scene of the attack and was having dinner when I saw Ali going to his room. I asked him about the case later and he told me that he saw two cars at the scene of the attack."
The testimony of the owner of the hotel was crucial. "Ali told me that he would leave for Pakistan because his grandmother had died. Then he turned off his phone. He called to tell me that the police had caught him on Omonia Square together with another boy from Bangladesh. I did not talk to him after that."
The rapist from Paros was transported to Piraeus by police car under extremely high security measures. However, when the ship landed, Golden Dawn members broke through and tried to stop the car and lynch him. The driver, however, drove at full speed and left but several "boys in black" chased the police car along the streets of Piraeus.
The xenophobic party argued that the rapist had lied about his year of birth in order "to avoid being sent to a regular prison and to obtain a lighter regime."

Golden Dawn Goes After Immigrant Charged With Assaulting Teen Girl
PIRAEUS -Police said that a gang led by members of the neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn invaded a ship and tried to attack a 21-year-old Pakistani immigrant charged in the beating and sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl on this Greek island when he was transferred to Piraeus.
The immigrant admitted to the attack and apologized in court to the girl, who is still hospitalized in serious condition and to her family. He is charged with attempted manslaughter, rape and robbery, and faced a Syros prosecutor to give his deposition. He said he beat the girl’s head on some rocks when she wouldn’t turn over a cell phone he was trying to steal. She was found with the bottom of her bathing suit removed. The Pakistani admitted to attacking the girl after a second test of his DNA matched a sample taken from the victim, a police spokesman said.
The state posted a lawyer for the defendant as he couldn’t obtain a lawyer willing to represent him. During his moving from Syros to Piraeus, while the ship had just arrived in the port, police said a group of 20 Golden Dawn members dressed in black t-shirts and military jeans, with one waving a Greek flag, came on the ship and tried to reach the police van where he had been placed. Seconds later, the van screamed off the ship, showing a broken windshield. The man had applied to return to Pakistan as part of a voluntary repatriation scheme funded by European Union subsidies, authorities revealed, and had been due to fly out of Greece on Aug. 8.

Crime rates have increased due to the inability of the Greek government to address this critical issue. A striking example of the danger the Greek society is facing was recorded recently as one of the most hideous crimes was committed by a Pakistani who had illegally entered Greece some time ago. The 23-year old monster found a 15-year old Greek girl sitting on the beach of the Greek island Paros listening to music as most teenagers do in the Greek islands. According to his own testimony (quoting local media) he attacked the little girl in order to steal her cell phone but then he decided to smash her scull with a ten-pound rock. The savage Pakistani pounded the little girls head until she was unable to resist and then raped her. He finally wiped out blood and semen from his clothes and hid the body of the unfortunate teenager whose face and scull were fractured beyond recognition. The girl was found in a comatose state and many days later she is still in the intensive care while doctors sound very pessimistic. The Pakistani criminal after his hideous crime left Paros and went straight to his embassy in Athens to request money for his air ticket to Pakistan (reportedly from European Union funds). Luckily, the Greek Police were able to track him down and arrest him before his escape. According to the media, the district attorney has pressed charges against him for attempted murder, rape, entering Greece illegally and so on.

Europe and the rest of the world are still hypocritically wondering why Greece is collapsing financially but they forget something important. Europe is a living organization and when the Greek cell collapses the germs will burst out of it to contaminate the rest of the European cells who now see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.

Zag een stukje op Nieuwsuur. De politie doet idd weinig tot niks, maar die zogenaamde criminaliteit is gewoon een excuus om met knokploegen achter immigranten aan te gaan om ze in elkaar te rammen.

Ook altijd typisch, die extreemrechtse figuren. Dat het crisis is komt natuurlijk door de immigranten en ze vergeten voor het gemak even het aandeel van de autochtone Grieke politici.

The rapist from Paros is in the prison for juvenile delinquents in Avlonas in Athens from today. He appeared before the prosecutor in Syros yesterday and made a confession. According to the defender from Mykonos, who took over his defence, he apologized to the victim's family and society and did not deny any of the offences listed in the indictment. He rebutted only the date of birth, which was written in the documents and stated that he was born in 1993 not in 1991.
He then described the offence with very cynical and shocking candour. "I turned the girl on her back and hit her with a large stone, about five kilograms in weight, over the left eye. I took her by the neck and tried to hide her in a cleft, but she resisted and cursed me. I was hitting her with the stone continuously... I saw her face bleeding and threw the stone into the sea. In the beginning, I decided to steal her mobile phone to sell it and send the money to my sick mother in Pakistan, who needs it. To be able to get close to her I pretended that I was speaking on the phone. Then I pressed her in order not to allow her to respond and took her phone. She was moving and I hit her several times on the body by hand. I took off her pants and bathing suit and raped her. I wiped myself with her clothes. I threw away her bathing suit and pants to prevent her from escaping quickly and seeking help. Then I tried to hide her in the cleft and began hitting her with a stone. I left her there and went to the restaurant where I worked. I threw the phone in the hotel waste." According to sources, the Pakistani said in the next part of his story that he had fulfilled his duties in the hotel and watered the gardens.
Data collected so far indicate that everything had happened within half an hour. As the mother of 15-year-old Myrto pointed out in her testimony, she and her two daughters had gone to a small beach near the Golden Coast beach in the early afternoon on 22 July. At about 6 pm, the girl had told her mother she would go to the rocks to go to the toilet and she came back quickly.
A little later, Myrto asked her mother is she could go back to the rocks of the Golden Coast beach to listen to some music from her mobile phone. She also told her mother to call her when they would leave the beach.
"I started ringing her mobile phone after half an hour, but it did not work. I set off to the rocks on foot and then by my car to search for her. I was ringing her phone all the time but it was not working. Then I went to the beach in Punda by car and took my other daughter to search for Myrto together. We went back to the Golden Coast beach and looked for her. At one point, I went to the other side of the beach to Poseidon hotel and then I thought I saw her on the opposite cliffs. Then we went there with my other daughter and found her."
The Pakistani described in his testimony how he had arrived in Greece. He said that he had arrived in 2010 and entered the country from Turkey. He had lived in the area of Oropos near Athens at first and then went to Paros, where he found a job in a hotel. His duties were "to water the grass" for 450 euro per month.
The rapist's story continues: "The previous day, on Saturday, with a friend from Pakistan we went to the fair in the village of Piso Livadi. We left from there at 4 am and I slept at my friend's apartment, which is located near a petrol station. We had to celebrate Ramadan on Sunday but we slept until very late. When we got up, we ate and watched TV. I decided in the afternoon to go back to the restaurant where I worked. I was dressed in white pants and a blue jersey. When I passed along the beach, I saw a woman swimming in the sea. Two men passed by at the same. I saw the 15-year-old girl on the rocks shortly thereafter."
The Pakistani had also said that after the attack he returned to his room in the basement of the hotel where he bathed and washed his clothes.
The testimony of one of the waiters in the restaurant was particularly important for the investigation. "I had just come back from the scene of the attack and was having dinner when I saw Ali going to his room. I asked him about the case later and he told me that he saw two cars at the scene of the attack."
The testimony of the owner of the hotel was crucial. "Ali told me that he would leave for Pakistan because his grandmother had died. Then he turned off his phone. He called to tell me that the police had caught him on Omonia Square together with another boy from Bangladesh. I did not talk to him after that."
The rapist from Paros was transported to Piraeus by police car under extremely high security measures. However, when the ship landed, Golden Dawn members broke through and tried to stop the car and lynch him. The driver, however, drove at full speed and left but several "boys in black" chased the police car along the streets of Piraeus.
The xenophobic party argued that the rapist had lied about his year of birth in order "to avoid being sent to a regular prison and to obtain a lighter regime."
