Ja, en dan die passage over "trouble with the coast guard" en hoe ze 's morgens moesten vertrekken voor zonsopgang om te voorkomen dat ze werden gezien - vraag me af wat er te verbergen viel.
Het lijken me onaangename bezoekers. Nog in staat om zich bestolen te voelen als ze in een derdewereldland tien cent meer moeten betalen voor een kop thee dan een local.

Die coast guard is gewoon een complot van de Nederlandse geheime dienst. De coast guard had de torpedo's al op scherp gezet, maar Laura is ze toch weer te slim af geweest!

Laura heeft alweer genoeg van Hiva Oa, waar ze zo naar had verlangd bij de start op Sint-Maarten.. nu yacht parties met "enorm goeie vrienden" uit Panama op Tahuatu... meh, iedereen is altijd een oude bekende of goede vriend op reis. (zouden ze Cherry Pop drinken? )
Hoop dat ze dit paradijs nu mooi vindt, tenminste voor een dag. Vraag me af wat haar na aankomst in Nieuw-Zeeland nog zou kunnen boeien in de toekomst..

Maar deze keer is de bekendste Nederlandse solozeiler op weg naar Nieuw-Zeeland, zoals ze zelf al eerder had aangekondigd. En zeilt ze nu ook ‘niet solo’, maar met vriend ‘Bruno’, ontmoet op Bonaire, die echter beter gitaar speelt dan zeilt… “Hij is geen zeiler, dus ik kan hem veel leren. Aan de andere kant, is hij een goede gitarist, dus ik kan waarschijnlijk ook veel van hem leren. Ik ben echt benieuwd hoe het zal zijn om te zeilen met bemanning. Om niet alleen te zijn op de boot en niet meer met de stilte om me heen, maar het is een leuke nieuwe uitdaging!”
het vriendje is dus niet gelijkwaardig op de boot aan Laura, maar haar slaafje? Normaal als je met je vriendje/vriendinnetje gaat zeilen, ben je zeilmaatjes. toch?

Volgens mij is het wel normaal om op een boot een kapitein te hebben en dat lijkt me logisch dat dat Laura is in dit geval.
Maar het begint allemaal wel erg saai te worden. Laura gaat op haar gemakje naar Nieuw Zeeland en zal daar waarschijnlijk ook niks nieuwswaardigs doen.
En het boek en de film, daar hoeven we denk ik ook niet op te wachten. En wellicht heeft ze die ook niet nodig en kan ze leven van alle giften van haar suikerooms cq fans. In dat laatste geval moet ze natuurlijk nu ook snel Bruno dumpen, want zijn aanwezigheid stoort de fantasietjes van haar donateurs.

Well, I can tell for a fact that her cherry needs no more popping - and many yaughties she spent time with on the last trip can testify to that!
Half ot the time these two were too pissed to know where they were going, and when they left, they still owed for diesel and water.

Hey Shoul, that's exactly the attitude I was expecting from them. There are many people knowing her well enough, they say she is principally taking advantage of others as long as they are in some way helpful for her. Later on is everybody left behind, if not interesting any more for her. She may think cheating is her way of life, but smart people always find out the truth!
