A life-threatening, large outbreak of tornadoes is forecast to unfold across the central and southern Plains this weekend.
According to AccuWeather.com Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams, "The risk is about as high as it gets."
Oklahoma City and Wichita lie in the heart of the tornado threat area that extends from near Wichita Falls, Texas, to near Omaha, Neb., late Saturday afternoon through Saturday night.
Despite a seemingly tranquil start to the day Saturday, the environment will be such that numerous damaging thunderstorms will form from 4:00 p.m. CDT on through much of the night. A number of these storms will produce tornadoes.
Given current trends, it appears as if the severe weather late Saturday will, at the very least, reach the level of an outbreak with the potential for dozens of tornadoes. Such events are typically seen only a handful of times each year.
Unfortunately, the worst-case scenario is also on the table. In this situation, there is the possibility of a large-scale outbreak of twisters. Some of the tornadoes could be very strong and remain on the ground for miles.

This is the kind of situation where unfortunately people die. There's only so much you can do to take responsibility for yourself and loved ones. For one, find a sturdy shelter, two get a NOAA weather radio and pay attention, and three pray. I have a very bad feeling about this. I hope I am wrong though. Too many things are pointing to one of the nastiest events we've seen over this region in a long time.
Also, OK is not alone in this. N TX up to NE and points East will be affected also. This will be a storm system for the record books folks. I don't often get worked up over events until I see a setup that looks to take lives from strong tornadoes such as EF4s and EF5s, especially at night. This is one of those. Don't panic, just prepare. Be safe!

Ik heb ergens gehoord dat dat een nieuwe methode van de regering is om mensen te overtuigen om te schuilen. Dus dat het niet persé echt heel erg is, maar dat ze dingen zeggen dat het niet te overleven is en weet ik het allemaal.quote:

Daar is niks aan veranderd.
Lijkt mij niets mis mee met een nieuw waarschuwingssysteem in sterkere bewoording. Alleen als er dan gesproken wordt van 'catastrophic' en achteraf is er alleen 'structural damage' kan het ook zijn dat de mensen er weer niets van aantrekken.
