Upon the initial spray, Terre D’Hermes explodes into a bright dried grapefruit note (pick up a dried orange from some potpourri and you may have a good idea of what it smells like). You then get a hint of a dried, dusty cedar note but that sweet, dry grapefruit note is so persistent, it dominates. Also, there is a mineral, slightly metallic feel to the scent. That same mineral smell you get when rain hits a sunbaked rock. It’s really very weird. I also forget to mention a pepper note which is so well blended, you could almost miss it.
The vetiver makes an appearance much later to add a hint of bitterness to the entire mix. Add that to the sour/sweet grapefruit and the mineral woody notes, you get an interesting blend which manages to smell unique without evoking strong “Eww what’s that?” type of reactions.
The real point here is, it’s very difficult to imagine what Terre D’Hermes actually smells like. It will never smell like what you expect it to. It’s just a very unique, strange, addictive, gorgeous smell.
Kost je rond de 70E voor het parfum (75ml)
