The homegrown terror narrative took a bizarre turn this week when the government arrested an American on charges he planned to blow up the Pentagon and the U.S. capitol with a model airplane.
Rezwan Ferdaus, a U.S. citizen from Ashland, Massachusetts, was duped into thinking a harmless substance provided by the FBI was C-4 plastic explosives. FBI agents also gave Ferdaus six AK-47 assault rifles and three grenades. None of the weapons worked.
Ferdaus bought a model airplane for $6,500 and kept it secreted away in a rented storage facility in Framingham, Massachusetts. The FBI gave their dupe the money to buy the toy. He had plans to buy other military-style model aircraft.
He also allegedly provided agents with cell phones rigged to act as electric switches for improvised explosive devices, intended to be used to kill U.S. soldiers.
“The person was never really a threat,” a nameless law enforcement official told CNN.
“There is no information to indicate he was connected to a foreign terrorist organization. It appears he was radicalized watching videos on the internet. He was given the opportunity to back down, but he never wavered” from his intention – thanks to FBI encouragement – to carry out the attacks, the unidentified source said.
Despite this, Ferdaus will be charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to al-Qaeda.
Ferdaus is another dupe in a long line of FBI patsies tricked into participating in absurd terror attacks cooked up by the federal government in order to propagandize a “homegrown” terror threat.
It does this because there is virtually no homegrown terror in the United States, even though the feds tell us there is and they hold hearings to scare us into supporting spending billions on Homeland Security and its tireless efforts to bring intrusive sexual molestation pat-downs to the local football stadium and mall.

Not long after the corporate media launched its predictable and lame homegrown terror mantra this week, civil liberties groups began complaining about FBI entrapment.
“It deeply concerns us. It is another in a pattern of high-profile cases. Would this person have conceived or executed this plot without the influence of the FBI?” asked Heidi Boghosian, president of the National Lawyers Guild.
“There is a big, big difference between a plot initiated by the FBI and a plot initiated by a suspect, and it seems this might have been initiated by the FBI,” said Ibrahim Hooper, director of communications for the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
The government’s affidavit against Ferdaus mentions a person identified simply as “CW” who had a criminal record and served time in prison. CW met Ferdaus in December 2010 and began recording his conversations. After CW made contact with Ferdaus, the FBI stepped in and began goading him into committing a terrorist attack. They gave him money to scout targets and provided him with disabled weapons.
It is a familiar pattern. The FBI dispatched a criminal to hunt down a mentally deranged Muslim and get him talking about the fantasy of jihad and al-Qaeda. Next the FBI dispatched agents who posed as terrorists and they gave the mentally impaired person disabled weapons and fake explosives. It is not a stretch to assume they also thought up the crackpot model airplane idea and planted it in Ferdaus’ mind.
“The US has a vast and very expensive Homeland Security bureaucracy with nothing to do. There hasn’t been a terrorist attack in America since 2001,” writes Paul Craig Roberts. “As very few, if any, real terrorists have turned up, the FBI has resorted to creating terrorists by soliciting Muslim-Americans and appealing to them with schemes to aid ‘jihadists’… Like the police who find it easier to frame people than to convict them on the evidence, the FBI will find it easier to manufacture ‘terrorists’ with entrapment than to catch real terrorists.”
The Ferdaus case is anther example of this. Since there is virtually no terror threat in America, the government has to create it in order to keep their bogus and wasteful war against manufactured terrorism alive.
How else are they going to get our consent to invade small defenseless countries and roll out their high-tech surveillance grid in the homeland?

Tensions have escalated between the two nations as the US applies pressure on Iran over its alleged atomic weapons program.
Assessing external threats facing the United States of America, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper reported on Tuesday that some Iranian officials might be willing to launch terror attacks on America.
The official linked US suspicions with the thwarted assassination of the Saudi Ambassador in the United States in December, which America alleges was plotted by Iran, but which Tehran denies.
"Some Iranian officials, probably including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei … are now more willing to conduct an attack in the United States in response to real or perceived US actions that threaten the regime,” Clapper said, addressing the Senate Intelligence Committee.
The intelligence chief added that Iran has the technical capabilities to build a nuclear bomb, but has yet to make a decision to start the relevant production.
"Iran's tactical advances, particularly in uranium enrichment, strengthen our assessment that Iran is well capable of producing enough highly-enriched uranium for a weapon if its political leaders, specifically the supreme leader himself, choose to do so,” he said.
Clapper went on to add that there was "dissension and debate in the political hierarchy of Iran" on whether they should start producing a weapon, assessing the risk of having one against the regional prestige it would give, AP news agency reports.
Senate Intelligence Committee chair Dianne Feinstein said that 2012 would prove "a critical year for convincing or preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon."
Last week US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced that Iran could build a bomb quite quickly.
"If they decided to do it, it would probably take them about a year to be able to produce a bomb, and then possibly another one to two years in order to put it on a deliverable vehicle of some sort," Panetta said in a televised interview on Sunday.
This US intelligence assessment came as Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced that Iran is gearing towards nuclear weapons and that time is “running out”.
Western powers have ratcheted up sanctions against Iran over the past couple of months in an effort to curtail the country’s nuclear program which is they believe includes the development of atomic weapons. A number of European states have also agreed to implement an oil embargo on Iran that will come into effect this July, fanning the flames of an already volatile situation.
Iran, for its part, has threatened to close the strategic Hormuz Strait, a key shipping channel used to transport massive shipments of oil, if more sanctions were imposed by Western powers.
Despite the piling up of sanctions Iranian President Ahmadinejad said his country’s economy was in excellent health and that growth was predicted for the coming year.
Shirin Shafaie, member of the Campaign Against Military Intervention in Iran from the University of London, contradicted American theories of Iran’s imminent attack and highlighted the country’s strongly defensive foreign policy in an interview with RT.
“Today, Iran is in a much stronger position and does not have to resort to an attack on US soil to defend itself in the face of US threats,” said Shafaie.
He cited the fact that Iran’s military did not launch an attack on the US in the 1980s when America was actively supporting Iraq’s war efforts against the Iranian army forces.
He then shifted focus onto the aggressive posturing of the Obama administration, saying that its “…confrontational and undiplomatic stance vis-à-vis Iran resembles the policies of the Bush administration in the run up to the illegal and catastrophic invasion of Iraq in 2003.”

Commonly referenced as the “underwear bomber” or the “Christmas Day bomber,” Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was sentenced to life in prison last week by U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds in a Michigan court. He unexpectedly pleaded guilty on October 12, 2011 (day two of his trial) to eight felony counts, including attempted murder and attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, related to reported attempt to detonate an explosive hidden in his underwear while aboard Northwest Airlines flight 253 flying from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day, 2009. There were 279 passengers and 11 crewmembers aboard that flight.
While it is indisputable that Islamic terrorists indeed exist and target the West, there are a number of things very wrong with the official account of this event. The problems begin well before Abdulmutallab ever stepped foot aboard flight 253 and continue through today. Moreover, the fact-a-phobic media appears to have been neutered with regard to reporting on this very questionable scenario.
Bomber allowed to board plane with explosives
As ugly and conspiratorial as it sounds, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was permitted to board flight 253 with explosives despite being identified as a terrorist.
You need not take our word for it, however. Undersecretary of Management at the U.S. State Department, Patrick F. Kennedy, disclosed this tidbit during a January 27, 2010 hearing of the House Committee on Homeland Security.
Appearing uncomfortable throughout the questioning, Kennedy testified that Abdulmutallab appeared on a terrorist watch list before and on the day of the attempted bombing. Kennedy’s testimony seemed stained and contradictory at times, but he made it clear that Abdulmutallab was permitted to proceed on board the flight at the direction of a person and agency that he would reveal only in camera, or privately to the committee.
The reason Abdulmutallab and the bomb were permitted aboard an airliner carrying 290 people has strained the credulity of even the most hardened skeptics; he was under surveillance and our intelligence agencies were attempting to identify the members of a larger plot by having “eyes on him.” It certainly does not take an investigator to refute the logic of that account, considering the lives of 290 men, women and children aboard flight 253 and others on the ground were placed in jeopardy. Even if that were remotely the case, how would you feel if your wife, husband, son or daughter were aboard that aircraft?
Abdulmutallab assisted at Amsterdam airport
According to multiple witnesses, the would-be bomber was actually assisted in boarding the now infamous flight. Kurt Haskell, perhaps the most well known witness who was also aboard flight 253 with his wife, remained steadfast in his account that a yet unidentified well-dressed man, possibly of Indian descent, assisted the bomber at the airport when he appeared to be having problems with security.
Since the events of Christmas Day 2009, Mr. Haskell has provided first-hand accounts to Alex Jones of Infowars and Prison Planet TV. The information provided by Mr. Haskell is consistent with information we received from an inside source working for a federal intelligence agency familiar with this incident. According to our source, airport security officials were told to “stand down” by a contact within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and permit Abdulmutallab to board the aircraft.
Perhaps this would explain why Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano refused to testify in front of House Committee members in January 2010 despite being asked to do so by the committee.
Inexplicable events in Detroit
In an extreme departure from normal protocol, flight 253 taxied to the airport gate despite the presence of a bomb onboard. Additionally, the passengers of the flight were forced to remain on the plane despite Abdulmutallab’s statements that there was a second bomb on the aircraft, and without knowing whether the bomber had accomplices.
When the passengers were finally escorted from the plane, the manner of their exit actually caused some to step on parts of the bomb. Additional accounts from Mr. Haskell and other passengers provide interesting and critical insight into either incredible incompetence or some level of foreknowledge about the entire scenario.
Abdulmutallab’s about-face
The oddities surrounding this incident and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab extended into federal court. The would-be bomber pleaded not guilty to the charges, yet inexplicably reversed his decision a mere two days before potentially mitigating or perhaps even exculpatory evidence could be heard in court. It was a move that should have baffled his defense team and anyone paying attention to this case.
It is less baffling when combined with all other unanswered questions pertaining to this case are viewed in totality. His move otherwise buried possible evidence of government complicity, or at least incompetence, from public purview.

When the wheels of flight 253 touched down, there were only 40 full body scanners in place at 19 airports in the U.S. Today, these scanners are in place or scheduled to be deployed throughout the U.S., and not just in airports.
As we previously reported, former DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff and co-author of the U.S. Patriot Act took to the airwaves to lobby for the placement of the nuclear scanners at all airports, using flight 253 as the reason.
In the wake of his flurry of media appearances suggesting that full body scanners would have likely caught Abdulmutallab, an article critical of Chertoff appeared in the January 1, 2010 edition of The Washington Post. The former DHS secretary was criticized for “using his former government credentials to advocate for a product that benefits his clients.”
It was disclosed that Chertoff’s security consulting agency included a client that manufactures the controversial scanners. That client is Rapiscan Systems, the leading provider of the scanners to the TSA and numerous other airports across the world.
Rapiscan is a wholly owned subsidiary of OSI Systems, Inc., a worldwide company based in California that develops and markets security and inspection systems. It is one of a handful of such companies trying to corner the market on security hardware for the air transportation industry – a market estimated to be worth $300 billion in the United States alone.
OSI Systems, Inc. made headlines last week when the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey awarded them a $15 million contract to install their cargo scanners at the new World Trade Center. Through 2009, however, OSI Systems, Inc. was posting revenue losses. Starting in 2010, after the “failed bombing attempt,” the company has posted continuous quarterly gains.
Investigation disclosed that some of the full body scanners were purchased with stimulus money. Also, it was uncovered that the infamous George Soros held nearly 12,000 shares of stock in the parent company.
No questions asked
Despite all of the oddities surrounding Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (and there are many more than listed here), the Department of Homeland Security and all of the agencies people involved, not one of our elected officials has appeared to have any desire to disclose the truth of flight 253. Additionally, the corporate media has been AWOL to the point of complicity.
It’s time for Americans to demand accountability - or resignations.

Wat betreft Anonymous: Ik vertrouw het niet helemaal. Neemt 1) dat Anonymous ontzettend complexe netwerken kan hacken, ongeacht de security, state of the art apparatuur, etc. Wie zijn deze mensen? Zulks lui (in kennis) werken meestal voor de inlichtingendienst en kennen zodoende zaken die zelfs de IT professionals niet weten. 2) Het is juist Anonymous die de elite een goed reden geeft om het internet af te sluiten. Het censureren van het internet wil niet 1,2. Er moet een geldig reden komen voor het verbannen anoniem internet. Het downloaden van filmes/games volstaat niet. Men heeft een goede reden nodig,.. het is gevaarlijk? Kijkt Anonymous en wat zij doen? Of zie ik iets over het hoofd?
Als we het ons nog goed kunnen herinneren dan werden er op 9/11 oefeningen gehouden m.b.t. terroristische aanslagen. Dit was in Noorwegen ook het geval.. Webster Tarpley heeft hier uitvoerig over gesproken en zegt dat het "oefenen" om kan slaan in daadwerkelijk actie (9/11). Of dat men zaken gereed zet voor wanneer een latere datum beter schikt (wat men had gedaan in Noorwegen).

Wraak
Het vuurgevecht volgde op dertig uur onderhandelen tussen Merah en de politie. Merah was naar eigen zeggen lid van de Islamitische terreurorganisatie al-Qaeda.
Hij zou de moorden hebben gepleegd als wraak voor de dood van Palestijnse kinderen en de inzet van Franse militairen in Afghanistan.
Benalal Merah liet dinsdag al weten dat hij overwoog een aanklacht in te dienen tegen de politie. De Franse minister van Buitenlandse Zaken Alain Juppé reageerde daarop woedend. ''Als ik de vader van zo'n monster was, zou ik mijn mond houden", aldus Juppé.
Begrafenis
De familie van Mohamed Merah wil hem in het zuiden van Algerije begraven. Hoewel de Algerijnse autoriteiten nog geen toestemming zouden hebben gegeven voor de begrafenis, zeggen familieleden dat het lichaam van Merah donderdag in Algerije aankomt.

Speculatie neemt toe: Was Merah een politie-informant?
In Frankrijk wordt druk gespeculeerd over de vraag of de Frans-Algerijnse jihadist Mohamed Merah, die eerder deze maand een reeks moorden in het zuiden van Frankrijk pleegde, een informant was van de politie in een poging om te verklaren waarom Merah zo lang aan de aandacht van de politie is ontsnapt. Het hoofd van de inlichtingendienst (DCRI), Bernard Squarcini, ontkent dat gerucht met klem, zo melden diverse Franse nieuwssites.
Het was Squarcini zelf die vorig week aan de basis lag van de speculatie toen hij bekendmaakte dat de 23-jarige Merah, tijdens de belegering van zijn woning, met een plaatselijke agent van de DCRI wilde spreken met wie hij eerder, na een trip naar Pakistan, al contact had gehad. De twee zouden een goed contact hebben gehad.
"Gekend bij DCRI"
Squarcini benadrukte dat het ging om "ondervragingen" en dat de DCRI van Merah wilde weten waarom hij naar Afghanistan was gegaan. De voorganger van Squarcini, Yves Bonnet, deed de speculatie nog aanzwellen nadat hij bevestigde dat Merah "gekend" was bij de DCRI.
Ook de trip van Merah naar Israël en de bezette Palestijnse gebieden wordt opnieuw bekeken. Hij zou die reis volgens nog onbevestigde beweringen hebben kunnen maken met de hulp van de Franse inlichtingendiensten in ruil voor informatie.

Merah is vanavond toch begraven in zijn woonplaats Toulouse. Ondanks bezwaren van de burgemeester is de uitvaart doorgegaan. Zijn lichaam kwam deze vooravond aan bij de begraafplaats Cornebarrieu in Toulouse. Ongeveer vijftien jonge mannen begeleidden hem naar zijn laatste rustplaats op een islamitisch deel van de begraafplaats.
De burgemeester van Toulouse vond het ongepast om Merah te begraven in de stad waar hij zijn aanslagen had gepleegd. Hij vroeg daarom de teraardebestelling 24 uur uit te stellen. President Nicolas Sarkozy wilde geen discussie over de begrafenis. "Hij was Frans. Laat hem begraven worden en laten we er niet over ruziën. Ik heb gezegd wat ik vind van Mohamed Merah, die zich monsterachtig heeft gedragen'', zei Sarkozy.

Ongedeerd
Gisteren meldden de Amerikaanse autoriteiten dat de bom is ontwikkeld door de terroristische beweging al-Qaeda op het Arabisch Schiereiland. De informant droeg de bom over aan de autoriteiten nadat die hem was overhandigd. Betrokkenen melden dat de informant Jemen intussen ongedeerd heeft verlaten.
