Is The Nintendo DSi Dead? First released in Japan in Fall 2008, the Nintendo DSi brought a new era to Nintendo's handheld gaming with a low-res camera. That era, it seems, is apparently finished.
According to a Japanese retail source, the Nintendo DSi seems to be out of production. The available DSi consoles are apparently only those currently in inventory, and there are supposedly areas where it is sold out.
However, the DSiXL (or DSiLL as it's called in Japan) still seems to be in production.
With the Nintendo 3DS coming out shortly, Nintendo might want to avoid consumer confusion between the similarly-sized 3DS and the DSi.
If this is true, don't look for Nintendo to cease support for DSiXL just yet. The console still fills a gap by offering the DSi experience, but on larger scale.

Remember that mysterious Pokémon game from last year's Tokyo Game Show, the one that was for the DS but would include a proper keyboard? It's out in April in Japan. And still makes absolutely no sense.
It's called Pokémon Typing, and is intended to serve as a touch-typing aid for kids, get them clacking away on their keyboards without having to look up the screen all the time. To this end, the game will include a Bluetooth keyboard which can sync with a DS, allowing kids to prop their tiny-screened handhelds up and get really good at hurting their eyes straining at a small screen.
Why they didn't just release this for the Wii, for which there is already a keyboard peripheral and a screen large enough to accommodate this kind of business, is anyone's guess.
On the bright side, the keyboard lacks any kind of Pokémon branding and is a simple Bluetooth peripheral, so if you don't feel like using it on a DS you can use it on an iPad, PS3 or laptop instead.

Over backlog gesproken; ik ga ze eens allemaal uit de kast trekken, tellen en dan een plekje geven waar ik ze regelmatig kan zien zodat ik ook gemotiveerd ben om een van de titels te gaan spelen.
Ik heb welgeteld zes(!) jaar gewacht totdat er een nieuwe Golden Sun zou komen, dikke hype alles.
Is die er eindelijk, heb ik het te druk met mijn X360 en PS3 backlogs

Ik heb ook zo lang gewacht maar natuurlijk wel meteen gaan spelen. Ik speel echter alleen maar op de NDS als ik een keer een luie dag heb of een verloren uurtje ergens, komt niet zo vaak voor. Nu ben ik 12 uur op weg in Golden Sun.... Man, ik heb een paar spellen uit de kast getrokken die ik ooit nog eens uit wil spelen of uberhaupt aan wil beginnen... Het zijn er slechts; 15.
Ik heb DQ VI vandaag binnen gekregen. Zodra ik Layton 3 uit heb ga ik daar aan beginnen! Kan niet wachten

Layton 3 is weer leuk, net als de twee voorgaande delen, maar hier zitten toch wel een aantal foutjes in. Weet niet of dat door de Nederlandse vertaling komt, het is wel zonde. Grootste fout was dat schilderij waarop 'iets niet klopt' en de kaartspeler zou moeten zijn die zijn kaarten verkeerd opgestoken heeft. Dat zie je niet als je linkshandig bent omdat je ze dan altijd zo opsteekt

Ik weet wel zeker dat het door de Nederlandse vertaling komt, heb ook al aardig wat foutjes ontdekt ja. Het helpt dan als je in het engels gaat denken.
Het helpt dat er voor Nintendo DS al een jaar geen toffe games meer komen. Na de combi Layton 2/DQV speel ik nu Layton 3/DQVI....
