Mario 64 hätte hier einen sehr guten Mittelweg gefunden und die unterschiedlichen Geschmäcker der Spieler bestens unter einen Hut gebracht. Da sowohl 2D- als auch 3D-Mario-Spiele ihren Reiz haben, will Nintendo auf 3DS deshalb auch beide Varianten anbieten.

Apparently this rule was enacted from the beginning of 2009, which is why I was able to receive various electronics from Japan while living in the U.S. (DS Lite in 2006; DSi in 2008). It also apparently doesn't violate any rules going in the other direction. In late 2009, my family shipped me a PSP Go and earlier this year, I and many people received iPads before they launched in Japan.
All I have to say is that this is absolutely ridiculous, especially since the post office won't even accept lithium ion battery products for seamail either. Not to mention that thousands of people take handhelds into airplanes every day.
Let this thread serve as a warning to those who plan on having their friends mail them a 3DS overseas before it launches in your country!
