Hallo allemaal,
ik moet 6 mei a.s. een ierse avond organiseren bij de plaatselijke voetbalclub en heb eigenlijk even wat hulp nodig wat betreft de muziek. Bier ( Kilkenny en Guinness is al geregeld
) Welke bands uit Ierland kennen jullie, die wat hits of een grote hit in Nederland hebben gehad. Ik heb al wat feestmuziek met Irish Drinking Songs en Flogging Molly.
Ik zoek nu wat gewone popmuziek die iedereen kent uit Ierland. Denk aan een U2, The Cranberries e.d.!! Kunnen jullie me nog wat bekende bands noemen uit Ierland, waar ik nooit aan gedacht zou hebben of waarvan mensen denken "komen die ook uit Ierland?" Alle hulp wordt zeer op prijs gesteld, alvast bedankt.

Dropkick Murphys. The Real McKenzies. Wat je wellicht ook kan proberen is Rapalje. Niet iers, maar ook leuke meezingers, vooral als je wat op hebt. 'Wat zullen we drinken', 'The Drunken Sailor'', 'Home Is Where My Friends Are ', 'Caledonia - Inis Oirr ', 'The Irish Rover ' etc.

Undertones is natuurlijk de beste Ierse band

Op basis van de sound had ik ze in Ierland geplaatst inderdaad. Maargoed, opzich passen ze wel op zo'n feestje denk ik.

Undertones is leuk inderdaad. En Thin Lizzy is een beetje een fletse hardrockband geworden, maar helemaal in het begin toen ze nog een echt Ierse band waren, met Eric Bell, hebben ze briljante dingen gedaan.
Wees gehoorzaam. Alleen samen krijgen we de vrijheid eronder.
Misschien niet pcies wat je zoekt, maar een van de coolste bands uit Ierland is God is an Astronaut (instrumentale prog-post rock).
