quote:SP: Thanks for asking this question. Dead Space 2 is going to be just as scary, gruesome, and tense as the original game. The action comments are often misunderstood. What we are trying to do is augment the tense sections with moments where Isaac feels more capable or like he has the upper hand for a change. Remember Isaac has dealt with the Necromorphs before, he has learned some things, and so we want to give the player a chance to experience the upper hand. That does not mean it changes the rest of the game. These situations will still be scary and tense the only real difference is that they will also be a bit faster paced than the rest of the combat you might experience in the game. We want to create peaks and valleys in the game, one moment you’re backed into a corner down to you last shot forced to use Melee, Stasis, or Kinesis to get enough distance to finish off your foe and the next you get the drop on the Necromorphs and can really kick the shit out of them.
The other part of the action we want to bring to the game revolves around specific sequences that are big moments of the game, I can’t really go into too much detail without giving out any spoilers but these moments are sometimes scary and sometimes epic, what we are going for is an “Oh Shit” reaction from players.
Wat een franchise mensenquote:Dead Space fans might want to keep an eye on their local bookstore this summer as Tor Books releases Dead Space: Martyr, a novel that will look at the origins of the Church of Unitology, the Black Marker and more.
Dead Space was a pretty awesome game, but by the time it was all over it had raised more questions than it answered. Who was Michael Altman? What's the Church of Unitology really all about? Where did this Black Marker thing come from, and why does everyone seem so determined to get their hands on it when it's obviously nothing but a big pain in the ass? I thoroughly enjoyed the game, but I couldn't explain it on a bet.
Fortunately, that won't be a worry once Dead Space: Martyr, a new novel from science fiction imprint Tor Books, hits the shelves this July. Written by Brian Evenson, the book will be set hundreds of years prior to the events of Dead Space and will offer a more detailed look at Church of Unitology founder Michael Altman, his discovery of the Black Marker and rumored assassination.
"One of the most compelling storytelling aspects of Dead Space has been the Church of Unitology: Its origins, power, and role in Dead Space," said Tor editor Eric Raab. "Writer B.K. Evenson gets into the terrifying aspects of mob mentality like no other writer today. This isn't only a great story within the Dead Space universe; it's a great novel on its own."
Evenson, currently the Director of Brown University's Literary Arts Programan, is an award-winning author of short stories, novellas and novels. His book Last Days was recently selected as the best horror novel of 2009 by the American Library Association.
Dead Space 2 is currently in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No release date has been announced.

At its best, Conviction is played as a high-stakes puzzle game, taut and thrilling when everything is going your way. But when cover is broken, the floodlights go up to reveal a mediocre shooter. Perhaps the greatest irony of all is that Splinter Cell: Conviction appears brightest in the dark.

quote:Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer beta detailed
Ubisoft’s detailed how the multiplayer beta of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will work when it goes live in summer.
As already pointed out previously, it’ll be a straight download from Xbox Live via your copy of Splinter Cell: Conviction. Once downloaded from the news feed of Conviction, the beta will be playable from the Games Library section of My Xbox on your 360.
The interesting part is that you can download the beta with no codes required, which basically means you can nick a lend of your friend’s copy of Conviction and download it. Easy.
“In order to get your hands on the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier Beta once it becomes available, you must be connected to Xbox LIVE so that you can download the beta from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
Once the beta is available, you’ll be able to download it through the news feed on the main menu of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, free of charge and with no codes required.
The Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier Beta will be available for only a limited time. Once that period expires, the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier Beta link on the Main Menu in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction will no longer be available.
The beta will be accessable via the Xbox 360 Dashboard, into the “Games Library” section.”
The leaflet also shows a BBFC 18 rating for the game, which would be a first for the series, and hinting at a more mature Ghost Recon title then before.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is released this fall for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, with the multiplayer beta exclusive to 360 and Xbox Live users.
Shots of the leaflet that comes with Conviction are below.

quote:Marvel vs. Capcom 3:` it’s about time we got a real, high-definition upgrade to one of the best fighting games ever created. From the information we have heard the game will be disc-based (no more XBLA or PSN for MvC fans) and the graphics will be seriously upgraded, running at a full 1080P. Another little hint was the fact that Marvel-employee Agent M (Ryan Penagos) was in Hawaii this past week, at the same hotel, showing off something he could not yet talk about. Oh anyone else notice the Twitter account for MvC3 has popped back up, making tweets about this and that almost daily. Something is about to happen with that franchise and I’m willing to guarantee this is just that announcement. The only information still scarce on this game is that of the roster, we can confirm that Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto, Storm, and a few others will be back; but the team behind MvC3 have said they will be blowing fans out of the water with the sheer number of characters this game includes (on the disc). Surely the unlock-able gameplay will be back and in full force.
quote:As far as gameplay goes the Capcom team decided to stick with what we know best, 2D – that being said it is not tradition 2D fighting, think more of a cross between Street Fighter IV and the original Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (sounds epically awesome to us). Other details, screenshots, trailers, and more will be released next week once the official embargo lifts. Another rumor my mole told me was that gamers attending this year’s E3 2010 conference in Los Angeles will have a chance to go hands-on with Marvel vs. Capcom 3 – it should ship later this year or early 2011 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. There are many other rumors swirling around but we think we pled our case just fine, MvC3 is coming to next-gen consoles and will be officially announced very soon (like next week).
